This is a pretty ridiculous investment of time in a petty issue.  For what it's worth (probably not much) I've watched quite a bit of the Vikings.  When I was a kid, Vikes were my number two team because I liked Fran Tarkenton and purple and Vikings.  So, I still watch them with some remnant nostalgia.  Keenum benefits from a superior defense and he's having one of those years where the breaks go mostly one way for a mediocre qb.  Neither he nor Taylor is a long-term solution to a team looking for a franchise qb.

right. that fact that I wanted a qb early last year..... pay no mind to that. 

 

apparently the fact that I pointed out that taylor has a winning record with 3 years worth of bad defenses and would obviously be winning with minn's defense puts me in the COT. thanks for proving my point. you mistake common sense and not just senselessly bashing a player for being in love with them.

Yes, apparently the Minnesota defense is the reason Keenum has put up far better passing numbers than Tyrod Taylor.

well... i'm not. its getting twisted that way by awful posters. my argument was there is about 20-25 qb's in the league that could win games on that team. too which I was told taylor couldn't..... now correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't taylor have a winning record with 3 years worth of sub-par defenses? how exactly would he win less in Minnesota?

Tyrod Taylor could definitely win with Minnesota's defense. 

 

Probably 7 to 9 games, depending on how many TD's the defense can pitch in.

Somehow that is good enough for the followers to keep spewing out phony fabricated crappy statistics to somehow justify the loony Tyrod worshiping.

 

You can't make this stuff up, it is a top notch comedy with all the twists and turns of excuses being made in support of this garbage QB.

So, timely defensive TDs against Atlanta & New England... holding Carolina to 9 points... only allowing 1 TD pass to Tom Brady... that's not a good defense? 

 

If anything, they've been hung out to dry by the dysfunctional Ty-gun Offense.

No stats keep track of that but by watching other games, Taylor seems to do it more often than other QB's. There are other factors that go into this but Taylor would rather complete a dump off pass well short of the stick rather than try to fit it into a tight window or throw a 50/50 ball.

He asked a question and I answered.

 

No, ALEX is not like QBR because it's just averaging passes on third down and where they are thrown.  As you can see, on average Taylor throws the ball past the first down marker on third down.

 

We can talk about Taylor's deficiencies as long as we aren't making them up along the way.

Taylor is 41.5% converting 3rd downs while passing, which is 11th out of 36 QBs and includes sacks.

Tyrod gets sacked often, but he has one of the lowest yards lost per sack in the league (3rd this year at 5.67). If you mean total yards lost per game to sacks then he's at 23rd with 17. Notable QBs who are worse here are Stafford, Wilson, Cousins, Palmer, and Rodgers. Top 5 are Carr, Bortles, Rivers, Brees, and Keenum.
