Hedge Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 (edited) For you internet sleuths, what are the 2 longest successful field goals within the shortest amount of time? He hit two, 55+ yard field goals within 99 seconds of each other. From ESPNs boxscore: http://www.espn.com/nfl/game?gameId=400951685 With 4:44 left in the 4th: Stephen Hauschka 56 Yd Field Goal With 3:06 left in the 4th: Stephen Hauschka 55 Yd Field Goal It's difficult getting used to not having my heart in my throat when the FG (or extra point) team takes the field. SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 (edited) YES, He's hit 11 straight from 50+ and He's hit 50+ in back to back games https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/9/26/16360374/stephen-hauschka-buffalo-bills-team-record-longest-field-goals-kickers-50-yards His two long-range field goals, one 53 and the other 55 , marked the first time in franchise history a kicker hit two field goals from 53 yards or more in a single game. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Hauschka-goes-back-to-back-for-AFC-Special-Teams-POW-honors/5032beb3-439a-4f62-8046-7d339738eef3 Stretching back to last season, Hauschka has now made 11 consecutive attempts from 50-yards plus. If he is good on his next 50-plus yard attempt he will tie the league record of 12 in a row held by kickers Blair Walsh (2012-13), Robbie Gould (2010-13), Justin Tucker (2015-16), Matt Prater (2015-17). After 14 total points and a pair of 50-plus yard field goals in the win over Denver earned him AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors in Week 3, Hauschka put up 11 points including 55 and 56-yard field goals to account for the last six points in Buffalo’s upset win over Atlanta. That earned him Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. That achievement makes him Buffalo’s first special teams player ever to win Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks. He’s the first Bills player to earn Player of the Week honors for two straight weeks since Hall of Famer Bruce Smith did it in 1990. Edited October 4, 2017 by ShadyBillsFan
IDBillzFan Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 It's difficult getting used to not having my heart in my throat when the FG (or extra point) team takes the field. Actually, it's difficult for me to see them take the field and NOT have my heart in my throat.
Matt_In_NH Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 (edited) He also missed 6 XP's last year I believe. So you should be nervous when he is kicking. Hopefully the last two weeks is a good shot of confidence for him. Edited October 4, 2017 by mattynh
BigAL Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 And yet he is owned by 7.3% of the teams in my ESPN fantasy league. I picked him up after the Denver game.
KermitMcDermott Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 I wonder if he likes The Lonesome Kicker.
Augie Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 I wish he was kicking more extra points. I'm getting so spoiled just expecting he'll make that 50+ yarder. But I am NOT complaining!
Scott7975 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Just seen this... Buffalo BillsVerified account @buffalobills Oct 13 Stephen Hauschka is the first kicker in NFL history with multiple 53+ yard field goals in consecutive games. Did not know it.
Boatdrinks Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Don't get too used to it. Most kickers are head cases at some point in their career. Maybe Vinatieri and Gostkowski are exceptions to the rule.
What a Tuel Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 He also missed 6 XP's last year I believe. So you should be nervous when he is kicking. Hopefully the last two weeks is a good shot of confidence for him. Seattles line is awful on kicks. IIRC a few of those were blocked.
