I said for the last 20 years we should be picking one or two quarterbacks every single draft until we find our franchise qb. We could easily had Cousins, Wilson, Mahomes or Watson. I did like the late Peterman pick but it wasn't enough. The entire world knows Tyrod's deficiencies. He's not a long term accurate pocket passer. And he never will be. Mahomes/ Watson + Peterman would've been perfect. And if that hurts Tyrod's feelings that's just too bad.

Terrible idea that is in no way realistic.

Who says Mahomes is a franchise guy?

Quarterback is the most important position in all of sports and there's clearly no arguing that. We've been without a quality quarterback for over 17 years. The Bills have wasted countless picks since 1998. Explain to me in great detail how picking a quarterback every year until we find one is a bad idea. Or maybe some of you yahoos would prefer to have Mario Williams or Marcell Dareus throw the ball down field for a hundred million.

I avoided looking at this thread. Figured I'd just skip reading it and saying, yep. Watson is definitely better.

There will be several GM's fired for passing on Watson.

I'm still mystified that the Bills passed on him and Mahomes to stick with Taylor which should tell everybody all they need to know about this 'new' regime. At least we have Peterman though and hopefully he'll be starting soon.

Nobody is saying the Bills should never have taken a QB. If you take one or two every year you can't possibly have time to see if the QB is going to be any good or not. Unless you want to carry 10 QBs on the roster and pretend you have enough reps to go around.

17 years out of the playoffs is Extreme...

I think they should look to take one every year, but not in the 1st every year. For me though when you don't have an established franchise one you should never go more than 2 years without spending a 1st or high 2nd on a Quarterback.

The reason I don't subscribe to the spend your 1st on a QB every year is that the way the CBA works I am not sure you ever have the reps available to get a rookie 1st round pick and a 2nd year 1st round pick up to speed. If one of your picks is a Peterman type you are grooming as a back up that isn't so much of an issue.

I agree. I said so at the time too.

KC is already convinced Mahomes is there future once Alex Smith is done. And it doesn't take more than a camp or even one season to determine whether a young quarterback has it or not and he simply waived. It won't require you carrying 10 quarterbacks on the roster. The way I look at it if a team can carry 2 specialist kickers like we did with Carpenter & Gay, why not 1 extra qb instead to see if you might have "the one".
