17 Josh Allen Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 (edited) I started this thread, so here is my adjusted thoughts on this subject. Watson is off to the best start of any rookie QB ever. He now has 15 TD passes and 2 Rushing TD for a total of 17 TD's which leads the entire NFL his passer rating is 101. Note he did not play in the 1st one and a half games that the Texans played in. Tryrod will be lucky to get to 17 total TD's by week 12. So Watson has done all this in 4 1/2 games and is one of leading players to be in consideration for NFL MVP and Rookie of the year. If Watson had played in the other games where Tom Savage was playing he would be over 20 Total TD's. Can you imagine what a extra 10 TD's would look like on Bills, (Tyrod has 7)We would be undefeated and talking about a Super Bowl run. Please don't give me the excuse it's because he has better receivers. The last 2 QB's for the Texans could barely get that team to score 20 points a game with those same receivers and running backs and he also is missing his best tight end who's injured. Now with Watson at the helm the Texans are averaging 34 points a game. The Bills just keep passing on QBs. We're 3-2 because of are defense not because of our offense. So let's just keep passing on QB's Like Mahomes , Watson, Russell Wilson, Carr and Dak the list goes on and on. We're just so stupid to keep doing what we're doing and not drafting a QB at the 10th selection. Tyrod is a good person he works hard and is a leader and he is a decent QB but he's a Bridge QB not a franchise QB. All those QB's I'm listed above are better then Tyrod in my opinion. We had a chance to draft everyone of them. This fantasy that now that the Bills have 2 number ones and they will be able to trade up to get there QB will not work. We will end up at around the 20th pick and the Chiefs will be 30, 31 or 32. If I'm the Jets, Browns, Jags, 49ers, Broncos, Dolphins, Chargers and Giants. I'm not trading with the Bills so they can get one of the 4 Franchise QB's that will be in next years draft. I have my doubts Darnold will come out. If I'm one of the GM's of those teams I listed I would not even take 4 Number 1 picks and trade with the Bills. Why would I want to do that so I can lose out on a franchise QB like Darnold from USC, Rosen UCLA,Lamar Jackson Louisville or Baker Mayfield Oklahoma, The Bills had there chance last draft they had the 10th pick and decided to trade out and not take Mahomes or Watson. The Browns are even worse. They had the 1st and 12 pick in the draft and did not take a QB. They traded the 12th pick to the Texans and the Texans drafted Watson. The whole thing just stinks to high heaven. This is what happens when you try to play cute and not take care of the most important position in football. I don't care how good are CB white from LSU is. Even if he makes all pro it's not worth not drafting a QB when you have that low of draft pick. We will not be that low again for a long time. Yes this next draft will not bring us the QB we need, they will be all gone. We are just plain stupid, but nothing can top what the Browns did. Having 2 picks in the top 12 selections and you don't come away with one of those QB's. Pathetic is all I've got to say. Edited October 17, 2017 by Thurmanator 12074
dma0034 Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 I mean best rookie QB ever? Cam Newton destroyed the first two teams he played. Bills will get their QB next year. Also Tyrod has been impressive this year. No one will complain about the Bills drafting a QB next year but this season is Tyrod's
17 Josh Allen Posted October 2, 2017 Author Posted October 2, 2017 I like tyrod and he's playing well but Watson and Mahomes are better or will be better. My opinion.
GunnerBill Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 (edited) I'm a big Watson guy. Probably the biggest on this board.... but best start for a rookie ever? Let's just calm the horses. That said I am not surprised how he has played the past two weeks. I think Trubisky will play well for the Bears too. The 2016 QB class was better than a lot of people gave it credit for. EDIT: I don't like commenting on Tyrod and Watson at the same time because I got lots of accusations in the spring of being for drafting Watson because I hated Tyrod (which I don't). The two were never connected in my mind. I was high on Watson on his own merits. It had nothing to do with Tyrod Taylor. And it's Deshaun by the way. Edited October 2, 2017 by GunnerBill
17 Josh Allen Posted October 2, 2017 Author Posted October 2, 2017 (edited) Watson 25-34 283 yards 4 TD passed, 1 rushing TD. 5 TD's in total. 25 rushing yards throwing deep like crazy. Will Fullers back 2TDs and they have Hopkins. The Houston coach called Watson the Michael Jordon of College Football. So they trade up to take him. The coach said you don't pass on this guy ever. Typical Bills just keep passing on QB's this is a QB driven league. No QB no playoffs. watch the Texans go to the playoffs and deep into them. Edited October 2, 2017 by Thurmanator 12074
17 Josh Allen Posted October 2, 2017 Author Posted October 2, 2017 You are entitled to your opinion Thank you John
HappyDays Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Cian Fahey broke down Watson's game yesterday on Twitter and basically concludes he played fine but the Tennessee defense was more responsible than he was for the lopsided score. On one of his scoring drives his first play that counted was from the goal line. But let's see what happens.

It's a great time for this conversation with the Bills sitting at 3-1 and you should wait to see how the league adjusts to Watson before puffing up too much. Edited October 2, 2017 by 26CornerBlitz
Dr. Who Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 I liked Watson and Mahomes and posted quite a bit my hopes that we would draft one of them. Taylor is playing somewhat better than I expected. Hopefully the offense continues to improve, though our wr corps is limited. Those who were sure the 2018 qb draft was going to rival 1983 look overly optimistic at this moment.

On one of his scoring drives his first play that counted was from the goal line. But let's see what happens. Clearly when a team gives up 57 their defense has not been good. But for a rookie to put up the numbers Watson has the past two weeks cannot just be brushed off with "ah well the defense was bad." A lot of people were happy to pile on Watson for not looking like an all pro on debut, on the road, on a short week, with no healthy weapons and a patchwork line and then don't want to give him any credit when he does put up big numbers. I'm not moving off this Deshaun Watson hill and I am happy for anyone to come back in a couple of years and call me out if I was wrong.
17 Josh Allen Posted October 2, 2017 Author Posted October 2, 2017 Give me Oaklahoma QB Baker Mayfield and will be talking playoffs every year. He is taylor made for western NY. Blue Collar player with a attitude.
Alphadawg7 Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Watson is off to the best start of any rookie QB ever. pretty much back to back 300 yards games and we just keep passing on QBs. We're 3-1 because of are Def not because of offense. So let's just keep passing on QB Mahomes, Watson Russell Wilson, Carr the list goes on and on. Except its not the best start of a rookie QB ever, but nice try. I mean Cam Newton threw for 400 yards in EACH of his first 2 games in the NFL. I love how people take a single game and always apply it over their whole season. He doesn't have back to back 300 yard passing games either, and he is 1-2 as a starter. Factually nothing you just said is accurate. Vince Young ROY...how did that work out? RG3 ROY, how did that work out? Way too early to declare this kid the next great thing despite his encouraging work the last 2 weeks. Give me Oaklahoma QB Baker Mayfield and will be talking playoffs every year. He is taylor made for western NY. Blue Collar player with a attitude. This is actually who I think will be the QB the Bills will draft next year, even if we keep Taylor. And I think its entirely possible we may not need to trade up to get him and can keep our other draft assets for WR's, OL, and possible Dareus replacement (because I am finding it harder and harder to see him on this team next year).
sjjr Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Watson will change the Texans franchise and be their guy for a long time. Obviously he's got it as he showed in college and HS. It's a long season though and defenses will confuse him later in the season in a few games for sure.

17 Josh Allen Posted October 2, 2017 Author Posted October 2, 2017 (edited) I said he pretty much did throw for 300 I did not say he did. go back and read my post. 301at the Pats and 283 at home agaist the Titans with 6 passing TD's and one running TD in his last 2 games with almost 600 yards in passing. he also has 1 passing TD and one other running TD from his first 2 games. one of them a 50 something yard run. with a QB rating of 91. Except its not the best start of a rookie QB ever, but nice try. I mean Cam Newton threw for 400 yards in EACH of his first 2 games in the NFL.
