H2o Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Romo only missed on game with the same injury. Same for Cam Newton. That injury cost Romo his job to Dak and if I'm not mistaken he missed 5 weeks before he was deemed ready
26CornerBlitz Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 That injury cost Romo his job to Dak and if I'm not mistaken he missed 5 weeks before he was deemed ready I'm talking about Romo's injury in 2014.
H2o Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 I'm talking about Romo's injury in 2014. I was talking about last year. That is what Carr's reminded me of, the way he got twisted while in the ground.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Oct 29 true Halloween nightmare - The Revenge Of EJ Oh boy
BuffaloBillyG Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Carr was so intent on tidying up that day, on Oct. 25, 2015, that by the time Jones saw him, the quarterback had two armfuls of wrappers, plastic cups and discarded beer bottles. He was about to go out on the field and he was looking for a trash can. He couldnt find one, Jones recalled. I said, Derek, why dont you let me take care of that? I know you have to go play the second half. He just looked at me, like, Thank you and ran out to the field. Kind of Anti Raider no? Almost sounds like an OCD
HankBulloughMellencamp Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Oct 29 true Halloween nightmare - The Revenge Of EJ bring it on, I'd sure like our chances I refrain from betting on/against the Bills, but I would consider going all-in on that one
26CornerBlitz Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 I was talking about last year. That is what Carr's reminded me of, the way he got twisted while in the ground. He had so many injuries in his career, it's hard to keep them all straight.
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 (edited) He had so many injuries in his career, it's hard to keep them all straight. Carr looks like a franchise QB. He's the type of guy you can easily envision winning titles. I just wonder how much injuries will end up derailing that. Carr is relatively young, and will have to deal with this for the remainder of his career. Injured QB's (especially back injuries) don't fare well in this league. His career could very well end up being Romo esque imo. Edited October 3, 2017 by DriveFor1Outta5

DriveFor1Outta5 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Please let EJ play us here. The only game I can attend this year. EJ Manuel starting would greatly enhance the experience.
Just Joshin' Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Romo only missed on game with the same injury. Same for Cam Newton. How do you know they are similar?
26CornerBlitz Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 How do you know they are similar? I don't, but it provides a frame of reference.
JaCrispy Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20887809/oakland-raiders-quarterback-derek-carr-leaves-game-lower-back-injury Some comments he made really took me aback. "I think he just got roughed up there," Del Rio said. "He got tackled, and something caused his back to spasm up. I didn't see much that would indicate that he would be injured, but his back spasmed up, so that's what it was." Told that Del Rio said it was a spasm, Carr said, "I'm glad he knows. That's awesome." "It won't be fun," Carr said of the flight back to Oakland. "But at the end of the day, no one really cares. I'll do my best to get comfortable, but as soon as I see my two baby boys, it will feel a little bit better." I don't know boo about the guy, but he comes off as a dick, to me. It's funny you post this Gugs...during training camp Derek, his family, and Del Rio were being interviewed by Derek's brother, David...I remember thinking at the time that I thought it was odd how he spoke to his HC- he was probably just playing around, but one could definitely take it as being a little disrespectful to his superior...I kinda just brushed it off as never really hearing Derek speak before, but after your post, it does somewhat seem like he has a wise-ass attitude with his HC.

Not for nothing, but you're likely mistaken about the power structure of most NFL teams. Hard to consider Del Rio the superior in that relationship when you take a look at their pay. It is much more important for Del Rio to keep Carr happy than it is for Carr to keep Del Rio happy. I'm not disagreeing with your overall point that there needs to be respect between likely the two most important roles on each NFL team.
JerseyBills Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 No mention of WHY they had no timeouts left? EJ and his regular lack of awareness.I know they burned 1 to avoid a delay of game penalty, EJ audibled extremely late and Del Rio had to call a t.o
Gugny Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 Humber goes back in with a broken hand. Ronnie Lott cuts his friggin finger off and goes back in. Bledsoe (Pats) has his elbow stapled shut on the bench and goes back in. But this guy can't go back in, in a must win game, for his team. It's generational. I see it at work all the time.

My Mom had a fractured vertebrae. She went to the grocery store every day. Shes 79 yrs old and the doctor said she should just keep moving if she can tolerate it...its the best thing for a person with that kind of injury. I guess its a pain tolerance issue.
