JM57 Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Rapoport: #Bills WR Jordan Matthews (broken thumb) is expected to play today with a special glove vs. #Bucs, sources say. 2 wks earlier then expected.
Royale with Cheese Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Man I really have gained more respect for Matthews after this. To know that any tackle could bring you excruciating pain and still want to be out there....hes got steel balls.

billsfan60 Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 If Jones can get it together a WR package of O'Leary (Clay), Matthews, Thompson (Reilly), and Zay could actually produce.
aristocrat Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Huge for us. That’s how you become a fan favorite. Now catch one of those nice over the middle balls he and tyrod like and really a fan fav Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Sounds like the anti Samantha To be fair, it's a lot more dangerous to be the decoy. The injury risk is much higher because you are drawing 10 guys to your side.
McBean Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 This is the same guy (Matthews) that I witnessed live, puking on the field against Ole Miss in 2012 due to a concussion. He ended the game with 200 yards receiving... I told my buddy that night he would be a stud in the NFL. I love that he’s a Buffalo Bill and we need to resign him. Again, kudos to McBean.

Yes, because the team needs more guys who have been concussed to the point of vomiting.
hemma Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 If they start ripping at the ball, just go down.
Magox Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Yes, because the team needs more guys who have been concussed to the point of vomiting. That's not the point, doofus.
McBean Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 (edited) Yes, because the team needs more guys who have been concussed to the point of vomiting. Youve obviously been drinking a little too much this morning my friend. The point was Matthews is tough as hell. Weve had softies on this roster in the past that would miss time due to soreness. This guy has proven over time to be durable and an overall great football player that you should want on your team for a very long time. Edited October 22, 2017 by McBean
frostbitmic Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Will he be able to catch the ball with a splint over his thumb or will the ball bounce off it ? I think his role today will be that of a decoy.
Patrick Duffy Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Will he be able to catch the ball with a splint over his thumb or will the ball bounce off it ? I think his role today will be that of a decoy. Zay should step in nicely.....
YoloinOhio Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 He was practicing with the glove, I assume. And making catches.

Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer Bills WR Jordan Matthews will play Sunday and wear a splint over his surgically-repaired right thumb, a source told ESPN's Jeff Darlington. NFL Network first reported Matthews would play Sunday vs. Tampa. He is officially listed as questionable.

I think his role today will be that of a decoy. He was making catches in practice. He will probably be limited today I am sure but they aren't going to put him out there as just a decoy.
YoloinOhio Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 @profootballdoc #JordanMatthews will be able to catch the ball. Splint on dorsum (back side) of thumb, away from ball. Won't interfere.
