Augie Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Not at his salary. Apparently they have not been watching the Dareus situation closely....
atlbillsfan1975 Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Watch NE look great tonight on D. Belichik has always been a system guy. He thought Gilmore could learn his system. I am sure Gilmore said ' I will do anything you need, I just want to win'. Now Gilmore isn't 'buying' in and the secondary is hurting. If the secondary plays better tonight without him it will be interesting to see what Belichik does.
CommonCents Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Gilmore returned to practice yesterday. Â Hightower is rumored to have a torn pectoral muscle, that would mean the QB of the D is gone for the season. Â Worth a watch.

HappyDays Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Thats a huge loss for them. Their run defense just got a lot worse and it was already bad.
CommonCents Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Bert Breer says it was 55 percent torn in the spring and that was why he didn't get the money he expected. The team was trying to limit him but the inevitable happened.
Magox Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 On a personal level I feel for him. But hey, $h#% happens.
MarlinTheMagician Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Never like to see any player injured for any team. But if an injury must hurt some team, it might as well be the Pats!
boyst Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Never like to see any player injured for any team. But if an injury must hurt some team, it might as well be the Pats!are you kidding? I'd love to see Tom Brady critically injured off the field, of course. A medical mishap in a botched prostate exam would be super!
YoloinOhio Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 (edited) @albertbreer Also in the GP! Pats DBs knew they were the prob. And they're fixing it. ... https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/10/26/week-8-minnesota-vikings-mike-zimmer-quarterbacks-sam-bradford-case-keenum-teddy-bridgewater We were giving up wide open touchdowns, guys were running scot free, Harmon said. We cant do this anymore. Were too talented. Were too good. We cant cost our team games like this, and especially home games . . . It wasnt Patriot football. We had to look in the mirror, figure out what the problem was, and we started to change it. Â One interesting caveat to all this is that Gilmore, an uncharacteristic Patriot free-agent splurge due to make $32 million combined in 2017 and 18missed the teams last two games as the secondary corrected its problem. His reentry into the lineup, given his culpability in the previous problems, bears watching. Edited October 26, 2017 by YoloinOhio
CommonCents Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Who does Bert Breer work for now? Wasn't he NFL network before? He is always on Boston radio, shame on NFL NET if they kept Ian R. over him.

There is question though as to how long mmqb will be viable https://deadspin.com/what-will-si-do-with-peter-kings-mmqb-1818552646
WhoTom Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Never like to see any player injured for any team. But if an injury must hurt some team, it might as well be the Pats! Â To paraphrase Mark Twain, "I've never wished for a player to get hurt, but I have taken pleasure in reading certain injury reports."

YoloinOhio Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 I have a feeling NE will be taking San Diego a little lightly...hoping they struggle in this game.maybe. Rivers has looked pretty bad this year. But lack of pass rush from NE could really help him. They are going to need to run the ball well in this game imo.

YoloinOhio Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 @philaperry Stephon Gilmore seen leaving Gillette Stadium a few minutes ago. Hearing he won't be playing today.
