This isnt Bills related but I think it is worth posting about. I think more players should put their money where their mouth is. Hats off to Deshaun Watson for donating his first game check to three ladies hit hard by the hurricane. Instead of protesting, go out and make a bigger difference in the community so your message can be heard.

True unity towards the community.

Very nice gesture. I'd like to see more of this as well.

However, I don't see Watson's generosity as mutually exclusive with protesting, either. You can't change societal problems simply by writing a check. The issue's way too complicated for that...

...I read last night that his family was the beneficiary of a home from Habitat for Humanity and he'll always remember that......

I believe Warrick Dunn played a part in that. Dunn has helped a bunch of families out with new homes, he is an amazing person.

I just used it as an example of making a difference in the community. Players can stroke checks to fund lots of programs or organizations that would help bridge social gaps in their communities. It may only put a small dent in it but it is more impactful than just taking a knee. I know there are players that are heavily involved in their communities already and I hope they are mentoring other players

So, is it bad to point out that a lot of guys do both?

...interesting and doesn't surprise me.....Warrick was top notch......BTW, GREAT catch bud...... ..........

That’s an 11-year-old Deshaun Watson with his family after then-NFL running back Warrick Dunn worked with Habitat for Humanity to furnish a new house near Atlanta to the Watsons via his charity that builds or rehabs homes for single-parent families.

Not at all. In one of the responses I made mention that some players do a lot for their communities that probably took a knee sunday.

"Dunn inspired by mother"

Is it any wonder that so many of the players were offended by Trump's "Son of a B!tch" comment...

I'm sure I won't be the first to tell you this but...you can do both.

Incredible heart and act of kindness. For the second bit of your post though... tons of NFL players do tons of things for their communities.
