Koko78 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 (edited) If we finish tied for the last playoff spot which tiebreaker is passing yards? I feel like we will be screwed. Hopefully it means less than a coin flip. Passing yards is the 28th tiebreaker, about 16 tiebreakers after the coin flip. Edited September 27, 2017 by Koko78
mead107 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 And ready for a ticker tape parade for the Offense? Please can we see a 300 yard passing game and a win, which every NFL team but the Bills seem capable of? Just because we get 300 yards is no guarantee of a win.
BuffaloHokie13 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Also, for what it is worth, there are exactly 4 QBs who are averaging 300 passing yards per game in the league this year, and one of them (Bradford) only played 1 game. The other 3 are Brady, Rodgers, and Palmer.
Kirby Jackson Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Passing yards is the 28th tiebreaker, about 16 tiebreakers after the coin flip. So what this guy is complaining about has less impact on where we finish than a coin flip?!? Huh

LABILLBACKER Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Last I checked I don't think Dilfer or Hostetler threw for 300 in their SB wins?
Koko78 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 So what this guy is complaining about has less impact on where we finish than a coin flip?!? Huh Yup.
Bills757 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 As they always say on the golf course.....you drive for show and putt for dough. Throwing for a ton of yards only to end up with the "L" sucks way worse than running an efficient offense with not a ton of passing yardage and a win. Every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Look at Carr last week. Less than 120 yards and two interceptions. Not hard to play this week to week game. Taylor is good. I'd even say really good. Guess many are just too used to dog turb QB play here to recognize anything different. One thing that stuck out in that game was the fact Carr's very stout Oline didn't play well. And guess what, Carr suffered from it. The Oline is the most underrated unit in football.

Seasons1992 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 So now wins aren't enough but they have to win ina specific manner... And against an AFC opponent, mind you. Remember, it's better if we WIN against the NFC.
Koko78 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 And against an AFC opponent, mind you. Remember, it's better if we WIN against the NFC. It's only better if the Bills win in a particular style, not that outdated nonsense like the final score.
Kelly the Dog Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 It's only better if the Bills win in a particular style, not that outdated nonsense like the final score. Apparently you haven't looked at NFL standings lately. From left to right across the top is W L SW T MV Wins. Losses. Style wins. Ties. Moral victories.

Moral victories. Moral victories are critical. Not quite as critical as throwing for 300 yards in a game, but critical nonetheless. Ties are for sissies who can't make up their minds.
BobbyC81 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 This is all we see however out of Buffalo and the offense and results in seasons in and around .500. Until you have the ability to put up 300 yards passing we get the same excitement that 200 was thrown for. Sorry that I'd really like to see more. Many 300 yard passing games come from a team being behind and passing on every down. They don't mean much, unless you get bonus pts in your fantasy league.
Alphadawg7 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 I'm with the OP. Look at Russell Wilson last week. Over 370 yards and four TDs. Why can't Taylor do that? Did Russel Wilson Win that game? Hint: The answer rhymes with Oh

Kelly the Dog Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Did Russel Wilson Win that game? Hint: The answer rhymes with Oh That was his point. He was being sarcastic. They eliminated Basically Losses?Nope. Those are still there. On the ASS page. Advanced Stupid Stats.
Alphadawg7 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 DO YOU NOT GET IT????? Every QB I cited can throw for 300 yards anytime and they do. I also think TT is capable of it, but he's never don it in REGULATION. Sorry that I would like to see a 300 yard passing game, but this management of the OC's have him handcuffed (this year and prior). Wow btw he's 26th in passing yards, with 2 games at home and all three in ideal conditions...... Really amazed anyone would question Wilson, Big Ben, Eli, Luck & Ryan....... Throw in Brady and complain about his offensive #'s and that they mean nothing. When the Bills needed 10 points from the offense vs. Carolina, they put up 3......... Ok...this just shows you don't watch Buffalo Bills football. Tyrod plays on a RUN FIRST...RUN FIRST...one more time for those to slow to understand this...RUN FIRST offense his entire tenure in Buffalo. Weird, a RUNNING team, the top running team in the NFL, doesn't have a lot of 300 yard passing days on the books. SHOCKER. Tyrod also has THE LEAST PASSING ATTEMPTS those 2 years of any QB who started over that time. Weird, someone wouldn't throw for 300 yards when not attempting very many throws. If Taylor went out there as a pass first team and threw more than ran, we would have 300 yards games. So sounds like you need to start B*THCING at the OC and not Taylor who has continually been good in YPA, Comp %, etc. But we also have had the best run game in football between TT, McCoy and whoever is behind McCoy coming into this season. Logic and context called again, but once again no one was home.

Logic and context called again, but once again no one was home. Are we still a run first offense? It is actually much easier to argue that he is a top 10 QB, than it is to argue that he is not a starting-level QB as some on this board have tried to do. Then why do so few argue it? Fine, I'll say it. He is a top 10 qb. Look at what he's had to work with at receiver last year and this year. Look at how crappy the pass protection is with this o-line. They took away any deep threats, thereby negating one of his best weapons. He's had to work with a different coordinator every year he's been here. And this year, we've got another run, run, pass specialist. His scrambling ability is the best in the league. He rarely makes big mistakes in terms of turnovers. All of these things factored in, I'd place him as a top 10 qb. Fans who trash him just don't watch other QBs with the same critical eye. Respect!
Billsmovinup Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 They won the game against a team they werent suppossed to beat. Who gives a crap about the yardage. Ill take 13 more wins like that
