PromoTheRobot Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 no, they're not. They're one in the same which is a barrel of horse dung. Horse dung is some of the lowest quality dung, for the record, so that's bad. The group protesting police brutality is protesting based on #feelings and #emotions with no factual evidence to support them. In an era where the blacks in this country are wealthier and better off than any other replace or period in the history of the world. They're protesting as the 1% entitled group that the 99% is on the other side of at the end of the day. Those that are protesting that are voicing their frustration based on the fact that the national anthem isn't about police, however it is acceptable just as juvenile and petulant as can be to ignore the facts already stated. Not to mention, kneeling has done no good. Not one little bit of good. Not one iota of one little teenth of a taitn hair of good. It hasn't raised money, it hasn't began, nor will it ever begin a social movements which will envelope change because it is not inclusive. It is divisive. It is not something that all people can't stand behind, as the protesters exhibit because it is disrespectful to others. This movement is not a civil rights movement. It is a civil rights confrontation to continue to divide all walks of people until you're either 'with us' or 'against us.' that is not what America is about, and that is what is being made to happen when folks like Villanueva have to apologise for their individual interactions of free expression because it is against that of his "team." This is not a black and white issue (no pun intended) as both sides wish it to be, but I only see one side working through it and willing to communicate while the other demands more and more attention. The tactics of those protesting by taking a knee are akin to a terrorist hate group. I'm sorry, but if I'm ever forced to apologize for standing up for my convictions it will end like it's always ended - really unpretty. congratulations, you added nothing to the argument to deny or show otherwise that he is wrong. lol. Look at you unable to quote accurately. Also, has Trump ever actually invited a hate group or terrorist group to the White House as 44 did with inviting the terrorist group BLM? Boyst, c'mon. There are hundreds of videos out there. How many do you have to see?
SoTier Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Conjecture and character smearing. How could you possibly know that? You don't. You are just trying to call peoplebwho don't agree with you "racict", "dumb", and "misguided" because you don't accept their view as legitimate. I want a real conversation about the injustice. America has a long history of trying to right it's own wrongs, and we are headed that way. This particular form of protestimg is counterproductive, however, as it alienates people who would otherwise agree with them. You, sir, have posted numerous posts on this topic in more than one thread revealing the very sentiments that Promo aluded to. The vast majority of NFL players are American citizens. They do not have to be "grateful" for being allowed economic opportunity or a modicum of equality or seek approval from bigots as to how to express their disapproval of government actions ... that's part of their birthright as Americans ... just like it's yours.

Mickey Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 It's anything but absurd! Many of us were raised to honor God & Country, and see all the kneeling foolishness as an attack on their values. Many fought and died for what we have today, and the flag represents all that. People naturally respond to that. As for Social media, I've never been a subscriber but have heard horror stories about people being attacked and threatened for expressing their views. Obviously that reflects a lack of values and respect, and those who were not raised that way, just don't get that! Just heard on the radio that a bar in N VA is cancelling Sunday Ticket because they have a daughter that is currently serving in the military, They clearly have the courage of their convictions, may suffer from a business standpoint, but are OK with that, so I support them.. Speaking on behalf of myself only, I would totally support your deciding to divorce yourself from the NFL and the Bills entirely. A principled way to start would be to leave this site, devoted as it is to talking about the NFL and the Bills.

SoTier Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 the correct wording Exactly this. The protests intrude on their fantasies that those Son’sofBitches "deserve" the injustice that so many are subjected to on a regular basis by so many whites throughout the country, and that those Son’sofBitches should be "grateful" that they're allowed to the opportunity to regularly put their futures on the line in order to gain some wealth. All of these people who are so "offended" by the supposed "disrespect" of players, coaches, and owners linking arms in solidarity with kneeling players conveniently ignore the POTUS's insult, an insult made for no reason except to score political points with the GOP's racist constituency.
CardinalScotts Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 if you don't get what they are protesting about, shame on you. It's not the flag and its not the song = like Rosa Parks wasn't protesting the bus. (some might have to look this up) Wow I shouldn't be but I'm actually surprised some (too many) don't get it

Those restaurants that are cancelling Sunday ticket, when they start losing their business, will be right back with the NFL.
Lurker Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 what makes me chuckle is you really couldn't find a more exclusive, high-end, misogynistic club than that of nfl players and owners.
Taro T Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 49ers told him he would be cut. He opted out after that conversation. Rather poor choice on his part in hindsight.
DC Tom Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 So...what's the big deal? I burned my Rob Johnson jersey...
Bray Wyatt Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 if you don't get what they are protesting about, shame on you. It's not the flag and its not the song = like Rosa Parks wasn't protesting the bus. (some might have to look this up) Wow I shouldn't be but I'm actually surprised some (too many) don't get it Rosa Parks was protesting because the busses were practicing segregation which she wanted to end. The players are protesting the flag at a football game because they want to protest police brutality? racism in general? (I put question marks as many people have said different things as to why they kneel) Are they trying to say that American ideals (which is what the flag represents) involves these things? I don't think so, and I think that is why people feel the protest is misguided and dividing people
Lurker Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Rosa Parks was protesting because the busses were practicing segregation which she wanted to end. The players are protesting the flag at a football game WTF happened in March 2017 to attract all the flies to TSW...
Mickey Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Protests like this work. Its how women got the vote in England and in the US. Its how the civil rights movement gathered support. Its how Ghandi rallied the masses. Its how a tax revolt in Boston became a revolution. Its how the political battles over the HIV epidemic were won. High profile protest by minorities that irritated and confounded the majority didn't achieve all these things by itself but it was an important part of all of these movements. In their day, Act UP, the Sons of Liberty, the suffragettes, NAACP, etc. were all despised as instigators, agitators, terrorists, traitors and the like. Authority never bows to the obedient. This is civil disobedience and civil disobedience works. Yes it irritates some, yes it alienates some but in the end, it may just work. Those restaurants that are cancelling Sunday ticket, when they start losing their business, will be right back with the NFL. I hope they don't so that a local person with a nose for business opportunities and a better understanding of the role of civil disobedience in nascent political movements opens a place with loads of big fat TV's showing every game.
87168 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 the real hypocrisy is seeing confederate and nazi flags, you know, two groups that literally went to war with the US. but oh no they're not disrespectful to the flag or country or VETS...yet, there are still states, counties, and individuals who supposedly love the "great country" but also fly a treasonous war flag, and genocidal empire's flag. man, people rooting for a group that's never won! haha sound familiar? hahah Go Bills!

And the same thing was said about the '60s riots and the subsequent stranglehold of the inner cities by the Democratic party. How did that work out over 2 generations?

I'll wait while you check the rosters for the wealthy females playing professional football. Other than that, well played. Edited September 27, 2017 by leh-nerd skin-erd
