Not only players but now companies may lose money. But Bills at least got attention in article using Bills game photo.

It would be financially better for all just to not play anthem at games.

Nike has taken an obvious stance on the Trump vs NFL controversy, a story that is unlikely to go away in the coming weeks. For now, Nike stands alone. But other sponsors may be studying the response to Nike’s statement for an indicator of what they should do.

And the response has already begun.

On social media, search “Nike NFL” and you’ll find some Twitter users applauding Nike, but you’ll also find many claiming they will now boycott Nike products because of Nike’s support of the player protests.

Of course we also have Bills "fans" who say they are going to boycott or stop watching but still continue to post although many do so to DOG the Bills so the boycotters may just be hot air.

Their primary profit producing strategy is to sell Jordan's at idiotically inflated prices... so they can't risk alienating their core consumer demographic.

I seriously doubt it. If their "primary profit producing strategy is to sell Jordan's at idiotically inflated prices", then they would keep their mouths shut and stay out of the whole issue by pretending it's a "non story". Any business that takes a stance on any controversial issue risks alienating customers.

Trump could be seen as directly responsible for the death of the USFL due to convincing other owners to move to the fall and directly compete, then filing an antitrust lawsuit - which he won, but was awarded $1 damages

His motivation was said to be, to force a merger which would raise the value of his NJ Generals team.

Be ironic if he managed to kill the NFL over this, 30 years later.

The NFL is doing a fine job of killing itself all by itself. Doesn't need any help. Over the top commercialization, out of sight compensation, 22 minutes of action in a 3 hour event, alcohol-soaked stadiums: now its a national protest platform; its all pretty much going in the wrong direction slowly.

Von Miller loses an endorsement deal after kneeling for anthem

https://sports.yahoo.com/von-miller-loses-endorsement-deal-kneeling-anthem-225340969.html

Put this under fake story that was produced be media. Miller has not had an agreement with the Deal since March. SO no he did not lose his endorsement.

Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller did not lose an endorsement deal with Phil Long Ford after protesting during the national anthem Sunday, despite media reports to the contrary.

KOAA-5 first reported Monday morning that Miller had been “fired” from his deal with Phil Long because of his protest but Miller has not had an agreement with the dealership for nearly six months.

Polling data shows that majority of Americans agree that taking a knee during the national anthem is disrespectful and not the time for protest.

Every time a player takes a knee it's helping Trump politically. Let that sink in

Hmmm. I might have to re-think my opposition to the protests.

Well said. All good points. Especially the over-commercialization. The lack of "flow" to the ball game because of this has caused me to tune out.

EDIT: If they'd just play the anthem before the teams were on the field you'd probably cure the ills of last weekend.

I hope the "companies" that decide to drop deals fall off the face of the earth. One that won't will be Nike. They know who butters their bread. Another one? New era. Another one Budweiser, etc. The Von Miller story turns out to be fake news. Since his deal expired months ago. Besides how much does some chump car dealer pay for a players endorsement. Answer: Pocket change in the players view. That douche owner did that too get publicity for a friggin car dealership. Please corporate America drop every NFL endorsement. And watch Goodell squirm.

So sick of the NFL over commercialization by the NFL. How far off are tv viewers away from a commercial after every play? Watched a Bill/Fish game from 1988 recently with commercials. It was an amazing difference from the current NFL. Basically one sponsor HERTZ. Back then they didn't even cut to commercials after a score. the few commercials played showed some guy running through airports. I think he is getting out of jail next month.

Not necessarily. My loyalty, as a US sailor, is to the country and flag, not Trump. The flag is more important and bigger than Trump or Lincoln or Washington for that matter. That's why I hate kneeling during the anthem because it seems to me it's in spite of trump.

All in all, this whole thing is overblown and not tat big a deal.

Someone on WGR said Trump is mad at the NFL for not letting him into their owners club.

Pretty sure he's over it. A lot of moronic comments are made on those shows. It won't be the last. Heck, he tried to buy the Bills , how mad can he be? This was a calculated move.
