leonbus23 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Long-term, I completely agree. But this week, the left got their porn. No. Wrong. Progressive Liberals got their porn. Not the far left. And also, aside from the media aspect, real people did real things. It wasn't entirely simulacra and simulation.
CountDorkula Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I think it took courage for the first kneelers to kneel. And I think it took courage for Villanueva to stand. Tomlin made it clear he wanted 100% participation unity in regards to the national anthem. But Villanueva followed his own moral compass and did what he thought was right. Given his background (West Point, Rangers, 3 tours in Afghanistan), you can't blame him. He defied his coach's wishes and stood with his hand over his heart. I respect both sides. Which is apparently not allowed. You have to be crazy far to each side on this, and not just "Hey I get it."
White Linen Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 There's probably a handful of players that stay on the top jersey sales list because of their popularity to their specific fan base and some because of their broad popularity. I would think most of the popular jersey sellers stay the highest because of their popularity but I think it's also safe to say that a lot of those players - fans already have their jersey's - so the numbers while consistent aren't hard to pass for one day.
Marty McFly Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Villanueva gotta take that govt D out of his mouth.
buffaloboyinATL Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Love this! I hope he is rewarded for sticking by his beliefs. EVERYONE is entitled to freedom of expression. jaybee Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Although the NFL has got to be loving this. You just know that the NFL's television ratings went up this week. LOL ! Like they did last year when unemployed Colin Pimple-neck started his act of division ? Good one !
buffaloboyinATL Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 i think the NFL.. the media.. is using this to try and make Trump the enemy.. JMHO I agree. I honestly wish he hadn't spoken out the way he did and given everyone someone to rally against. His heart is in the right place but he can help but take it too far.

Max Fischer Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Or, care about THEIR opinion more than honoring the National Anthem? What is the National Anthem all about? That may be lost on you. WTH does that have to do with this thread?? You need to follow the threads. Poster said that only sports writers are keeping the story alive and it would be fair to say that at the Alabama rally, dumped a tanker full of gasoline onto the flame. Get it now? Just out of curiosity...when did this start? Did it start with the president opening his piehole about it? No. It started with a football player who chose to wear socks of pigs dressed in police uniforms and kneel during the National Anthem, followed VERY QUICKLY by sports writers who need people to pay attention to everything they write. Yes, the president made things worse...but eliminate the sports writer need to compare Kaep to Ali, and the president is saying some other stupid thing that has nothing to do with football. Ah, so in your opinion this gigantic, 400-year social issue is the fault of sportswriters? Got it.
nedboy7 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Yet all the fat hypocrites that think they respect their troops spend another day not doing a damn thing for anyone else. Carry on losers.
dwight in philly Posted September 25, 2017 Author Posted September 25, 2017 Yet all the fat hypocrites that think they respect their troops spend another day not doing a damn thing for anyone else. Carry on losers. aye aye sir!
Marv's Neighbor Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 No. They went up. Why? Because there are millions of far-left people who hate sports, but who tuned in to watch all the announcers and players piss and moan about the president, who they hate with a passion. This is porn to the far left. That's very true BUT they are not the people who fill the stands and buy the stuff! NEVER see any celebs in the stands at any NFL LA games.

xxxxxxxx Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 A couple of things, coming from a Canadian Bills fan, who may or may not be a social justice warrior/snowflake/cuck depending on your point of reference. 1 - The far or radical left does not support free speech, and never has. 2 - The radical left does not like football, and most professional sports in general. 3 - Villaneuva looked weird standing by himself 4 - Booing loudly during a national anthem is really disrespectful towards the anthem, as well 5 - I will never, ever understand American Patriotism,
reddogblitz Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Oops. I thought this thread was about Danny Villanueva. https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2015/6/24/8836915/in-memorium-danny-villanueva-1937-2015
H2o Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20815108/alejandro-villanueva-pittsburgh-steelers-top-selling-gear-standing-national-anthem,,,,,,,,,Cool Good for him. And all the rest of them who are mad at him for leaving the locker room to exercise his right to honor the National Anthem.
reddogblitz Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Good for him. And all the rest of them who are mad at him for leaving the locker room to exercise his right to honor the National Anthem. Why does everyone have to do the same thing? Isn't that what freedom is all about?
Fadingpain Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 (edited) wow.. that might get some attention too Hopefully those in the relevant buying market tell Phil Long and his ****ty Ford products to go suck it when they buy from others in the area. This is the worst thing about Trump; he has given a voice and air of endorsement to bigots, racists, homophobes, misogynists in this country. Some of them hide behind things like "respect for the flag" and other amorphous BS to support their bigotry, racism, etc. Can Mr. Mueller please speed things up? The sooner we get old orange face out of the White House, the sooner this country can try to start cleaning up after his **** storm of a presidency. Edited September 25, 2017 by Fadingpain
BuffAlone Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Villanueva gotta take that govt D out of his mouth. You are the epitome of ignorant!
1st Ammendment NoMas Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 And on the other side ... @troyrenck Phil Long Ford dealership confirms they have dropped Von Miller following his anthem protest. He had appeared in commercials @DenverChannel Awesome. Hit these jackasses where it hurts!!! I hope every kneeling idiot loses endorsements and their job. Shady included.
