Blokestradamus Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 hopefully he can turn into our jason witten 12 career catches. Let's calm down on putting him in Canton
Saxum Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 5th round tender? Sounds about right haha Don't forget to take every opportunity for a cheap shot at Bills to pad your stats.
hemma Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Seems very aware of the situation and does what needs to be done. Said differently, no mental mistakes and will make the smart play.
billsfan89 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I always liked him as a backup tight end, but I thought he would be a project and was honestly surprised he wasn't on the practice squad all year. But the depth at tight end was so bad that he made the 53. But this year he looks like an NFL caliber player and he looks to be getting better. Hopefully this trend continue.
Fixxxer Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 The key for O'Leary has been improving his physique, he was really average in this regard his rookie year. I guess he's in NFL shape and it shows.
PromoTheRobot Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Guy keeps making plays. Every year I think he will get cut. Happy to be wrong. Solid contributor. He had a slow start but is finally playing to the expectation the Bills had for him.
Dragonborn10 Posted September 26, 2017 Author Posted September 26, 2017 Just because he is slow and white doesn't make him a good blocker. He is a terrible blocker but seems to have decent hands and seems to find openings in the secondary. If he keeps getting better passing out of the two TE set could be quite productive. Even three TE, Shady, and a WR would put five viable receiving threats out there against a base defense or a package with on less CB and an extra safety. That would allow some significant missmathces.

Big Turk Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Guy keeps making plays. Every year I think he will get cut. Happy to be wrong. Solid contributor. I was at the game yesterday and I didn't think he had a prayer of catching that when it was in the air...that was a hell of a catch by him...he seems to be better at making the spectacular catches than the normal ones...
Buffalo Barbarian Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 No gloves, no problem Old School ... or stickem lol
Bakin Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 There was a play on Sunday where tyrod opted for a shorter route (complete for first down) but O'Leary was WIDE OPEN for what would have been a 60 yard touchdown. Not sure if anyone else saw that.

Not sure if anyone else saw that. I do remember my son after one play saying O'Leary was wide open - he wouldn't shut up about it! Haha
billsredneck1 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 did he not win the best college te in the country...as in ..the nation? he's got exactly the skills to make huge plays for us and he will. he's gonna be a huge asset for us as the year goes along.
John from Riverside Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 (edited) O'Leary is exactly one of those guys I could see getting extended for not a huge amount of money.....it would be a good signing. also This was a huge TE draft class this past draft....and we ended up not plucking one and went for other positions instead....OLeary probably a big reason why Edited September 26, 2017 by John from Hemet
Uncle Joe Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 He's made tremendous progress. Last year, I thought he might have been the worst guy on the 53-man roster. He couldn't run a route to save his life early in the year and just seemed overwhelmed. The light bulb seems to have come on for him... I think he got a mulligan. In fact he replaced one. Or would that be a divot. I digress,
TigerJ Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 O'Leary is well short on athleticism and speed, but just knows how to play the game. He's never going to be a star in the NFL, but there are going to be times that you're awfully glad he's on your team.
Coach Tuesday Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Hes playing his way up to being poached by the Patriots!
GETTOTHE50 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 12 career catches. Let's calm down on putting him in Canton He's the man dude. Best TE ever
Manther Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Starting to see Logan Thomas in pass routes. Eventually he will start making plays as well.I am excited to see O'Leary and Thomas continue to improve and the team have more confidence in them. Thomas excites me more with his ceiling potential.
Marvlevydraftdaygenius Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I hope they start to see how good O'Leary is, because you don't want another team getting a hold of him and he starts making pro bowls because one thing about O'Leary, he can block and catch and has no fear of going over the middle.
