Chef Jim Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I make a river flow in it's opposite direction Mother Nature intended. It protects millions of people from calamity like disease and property damage. Just for starters, but what do I know. Fair enough Fortunately the Yellowstone volcano is not in California where prices are inflated by multiple factors. Yes because we all know that California is the only state that suffers from cost overruns on projects.
/dev/null Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Yes because we all know that California is the only state that suffers from cost overruns on projects. Not the only, but they are the master

boyst Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 There was some EOTW story out there about Sept 23rd floating about See thread It's the end of the world......... but is it only as we know it?
Augie Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 But climate change! This is how we fix that....we watch the planet blow up! No more silly worries....
DC Tom Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Point of note: cooling magma doesn't make it less dangerous. It makes it thicker...hence, more viscous, and more explosive. You want to heat that ****, so it flows and doesn't explode. NASA's plan sucks.
coloradobillsfan Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Not to mention there's supervolcanoes all over the world (VEI index of 7+) with no guarantee Yellowstone would be next. It would seem likely that there are some yet undiscovered. Campi Flegrei in Italy appears to be on a front burner.
PromoTheRobot Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Fox News Science? That is the most unscientific science article I've ever seen. The definition of oxymoron.
145B4IDIE Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Haven't heard much about the 'hurricane steering' projects lately.
/dev/null Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Haven't heard much about the 'hurricane steering' projects lately. Trump has a short attention span and has already grown bored with Dick Cheney's weather machine
LeGOATski Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Not to mention there's supervolcanoes all over the world (VEI index of 7+) with no guarantee Yellowstone would be next. It would seem likely that there are some yet undiscovered. Campi Flegrei in Italy appears to be on a front burner. We're concerned with us. Let the rest of the world deal with their own problems. Point of note: cooling magma doesn't make it less dangerous. It makes it thicker...hence, more viscous, and more explosive. You want to heat that ****, so it flows and doesn't explode. NASA's plan sucks. You seem to be on the same page here. The wording of the article just sucks. The actual plan is to release pressure. The "cooling" process is only a part of that plan. The end is near Elon Musk needs to get that Space X BFR into full swing. Then we can all just abandon ship!
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 I weep for our language. Right?
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Haven't heard much about the 'hurricane steering' projects lately. The movie will be released soon in IMAX.
