Saxum Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 They should let him wear #2 for placement kicks and # 4 when he kicks off. I am sure he'd be willing if NFL allowed and he got an extra paycheck.
MakeBuffaloGreatAgain Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I'm not a band wagon person. I hate going with the flow. But as far as this is concerned, HECK YES! This dude is clutch-o-matic!!!
OhDozeBills Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Wasn't very confident in him after first two games but he's as big a part of this win as anyone
CDogg20 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Such a different feeling when he's kicking than when Carpenter was kickingAint that the truth. Always found myself saying a little prayer as I saw DC going onto the field. Then promptly losing my mind as he missed the XP
Royale with Cheese Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 From the broadcast view, it looked like he was clearing those 50+ field goals by at least 10 yards.
Charlottebillsfan2 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 It sure is nice not worrying about Xp's
Webster Guy Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Agreed! Crazy to say, but if the bills had carpenter instead of hauschka, they probably don't win this game today. Just shows how valuable a kicker can be Yup. I was saying all off season we need to draft the best kicker in college, whoever that is.; We would have won 10 games last year with a decent kicking game. Miami and Seattle both would have been wins. Its a huge part of the game, we need a franchise kicker. the Hauschka rules
Not at the table Karlos Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 He got me 18 pts in fantasy.
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Carpenter's extra point problems made him expendable. Hauschka seems to be a good signing. Obviously something needed to be done at that position. Kudos to Hauschka for being a major part of a big win yesterday. Kickers do go through ups and downs though. The time will likely come where he costs us a game or two as well. That's just the life of a kicker. donno about that yet. He missed an easy one week 1 IIRC. Any and every kick from a placekicker is always a moment for fans to hold their breath. Kicking is a lot like golf, things are going to go wrong at some point for everyone. It sure is nice not worrying about Xp's Agreed. That was the biggest issue with Carp. You can't win close games missing that many XP's.
billsbackto81 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 This is what I expect every week. He's s beast !! Top kicker in NFL!! We paid for the best and we got it!!!!! ------------------------ Easy there bud, the best? He missed one in week 1 and got lucky on one last week when it hit the upright and fell through. I do like his leg and he's a major upgrade from Carp. Right now Prater from Detroit is really killing it from 50+.
CommonCents Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 He was GREAT today. He hit some big kicks and they were from distance. He is like a closer that comes in and gets 3 straight outs. His kicks leave no doubt! Bam right down the middle from 55?
Houston's #1 Bills Fan Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Yeah, but can he kick a 61 yarder!! https://youtu.be/-DFrmKeWGuI
Royale with Cheese Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 It sure is nice not worrying about Xp's Well we certainly hope. I believe one reason Seattle let him walk is because of his xp troubles.
Chandler#81 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Well we certainly hope. I believe one reason Seattle let him walk is because of his xp troubles. Exactly. I wonder how this thread got this far without noting the reason he was available in FA. IIRC, he missed 7 PAT's last season, though a number of them were blocked or botched by others. Otherwise, he contributed greatly to successive SB's. I'm glad we signed him!
Kelly the Dog Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Yeah, but can he kick a 61 yarder!! The one he kicked from 55 looked like it would have been good from 65.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 27, 2017 Author Posted September 27, 2017 @mikerodak The NFL has named Bills kicker Stephen Hauschka as its AFC special teams player of the week. @RLiuNFL Stephen Hauschka is the 5th Bills kicker to win a Player of the Week Award (Steve Christie, Mike Hollis, Rian Lindell & Dan Carpenter)
Charles Romes Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Agreed! Crazy to say, but if the bills had carpenter instead of hauschka, they probably don't win this game today. Just shows how valuable a kicker can be If we had Hauschka instead of Carpenter last year we beat Miami go 9-7 make or just miss the playoffs and Rex is still here. Sometimes things happen for a reason.
Doc Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 I was dismayed after he missed the kick in week 1 and barely made one in week 2. Hopefully what we saw last weekend is the guy we get going forward.
