Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 The TD pass that he tipped in the air and Holmes grabbed it is also a drop. Yep. That one probably not as blatant a drop as the other three I mentioned (I'd have to look at it again) but definitely in the realm of a dropped catch. It was definitely a pass that you would expect and NFL receiver to hang on to more often than not is one way you could put it. Zay Jones needs an attitude change. The guy is too timid and not hungry enough. He gets everything handed to him because he was a McDermott pick. If this same production happened with someone from the old regime, he would have been traded for a late round pick already. There is some truth to this sadly.

Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Yeah, I'd say that tipped ball to Holmes looks like a clear drop. So that's at least four now.
artmalibu Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 We will see today. If he sees the field and gets any targets we will know what the coaches opinion is.
Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 We will see today. If he sees the field and gets any targets we will know what the coaches opinion is. What point are you trying to make with this statement? We already know what the coaches opinion is. They are going to let him play through it. I expect him to get 5-6+ targets easily. Let's hope for the best.

If the coaches share the same opinion as some here they would not let him have any targets. Unless wining is not important to them.

If that were the case he wouldn't be on the field at all. I'm for that, but know the coaches are not. It is what it is. Let's hope Zay can pull though. An argument can definitely be made that fielding a player with a 21% completion rate is not helping the Bills win now. The idea is that letting Zay work through his struggles will help the Bills win later either late in the year or next season.

I will call BS on the idea that the coaches will compromise their chances to win today for a better future. Coaches made it clear its open competition for playing time, I believe them.

Coaches made it clear its open competition for playing time, I believe them. Why do you believe that? Sometimes players only get better by playing on the field. Zay's likely not struggling in practice. I guess we will see if Zay's snap count goes down. Possible with the emergence of Thompson and Matthews in his second game back from injury.

With the weather today I would expect a ground and pound game plan with limited 3 WR sets. Mathews is the clear #1 and with Thompsons big game last week I dont see the coaches letting Jones get targets if they thought he could not catch. Unless the tanking theory surfaces again.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 @mikerodak Bills sticking with Zay Jones opposite Jordan Matthews with first-team offense in warmups. No Deonte Thompson yet in that group.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 3 for 4 1 uncatchable / oob Nice start
JoPar_v2 Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Nah bench him. He needs to learn to catch ALL targets, even the uncatchable ones. Why? Just cause a**holes need someone to hate.
Scott7975 Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Kudos to Zay for getting some good catches today.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 Today's game is one Zay can build on. I hope this spurs his confidence from here on out.
boater Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 He caught a few.. let's hope he has passed a tipping point and will catch many more from now on.
Sweats Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 The FO should cut their losses and put this guy on the PS already..........they won't get anything if they shop him around and he's is doing nothing for this team. Yet another solid draft choice....................................................................................................................................rolls eyes.
Kelly the Dog Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Now he can be used as an awesome decoy the rest of the year.
artmalibu Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 The Zay haters will say he only caught 3 of 5 targets, and the one he should have been able to stay in with. The other throw away he could have jumped to catch. I know the stats are wrong and inaccurate.

I would have kept targeting him until the Raiders stopped it
