Captain Murica Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Is she suing the Crips and the Bloods? She should. Snoop Dawg has money.
Gugny Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 CTE is like the high ankle. No one had one 20 years ago and now only football players do.
Fan in San Diego Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 .....how can they solely attribute it to the NFL?.....what about collegiate ball at Florida or even HS ball?....is there any level of pre-requisite testing done?....don't think so....... Even Pee Wee football
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Even Pee Wee football ....EXACTLY....where do you draw the line?.....or do you cast what we call in business the WIDE NET to include everybody and see who caves?......we are in a WIDE NET lawsuit that has NINETEEN defendants...it's like dropping a crab pot on Deadliest Catch and see what you come up with.....crazy.........
Shaw66 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Forget CTE. His victims should sue the University of Miami. Nice kid goes off to college and two years later he's a hoodlum.
aristocrat Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Most people who do awful things grew up in awful environments. It doesn't excuse what they did but there is a reason it happened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
GoBills808 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 CTE is like the high ankle. No one had one 20 years ago and now only football players do. They're actually putting together a spectrum of brain injuries, and unsurprisingly CTE and PTSD show similar manifestations from physical damage to brain tissue down to predisposition for suicides. This is a study from 2011 if you have the time: http://thejns.org/doi/full/10.3171/2011.9.FOCUS11178 What's interesting is that the estimation for soldiers in active duty during OEF and OIF had as high as 30% chance of suffering a traumatic brain injury, and that brain damage from repeated concussive activities occurring both in combat and training likely contributed to CTE in the particular soldier they studied.
Buffalo716 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 CTE is like the high ankle. No one had one 20 years ago and now only football players do. Jack Eichel had a high ankle sprain...
EmotionallyUnstable Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Wasn't he into gangs before he ever entered the NFL? CTE isn't an excuse for him being a murdering scumbag. You made my day. I want to buy you a beer

Fadingpain Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Unless the NFL does something drastic, football will be dead in 30 years. Certainly possible. Then again, boxing is more violent than football and it continues, albeit as a fringe sport. One thing is for sure: if the NFL ever morphs into a "safe" sport devoid of violence and hitting, its popularity will greatly wane.
Haslett_Stomp Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 I'm sure he was a bad dude to start with. Having his brain turn to oatmeal probably didn't help. I am a transplant living in CT and a friend here grew up in the same town (Bristol, CT) as A. Hernandez and his father knows/knew the Hernandez family. He (father) said that Hernandez was a good kid until his father, who was a strong influence and role model, passed away. He got in with the wrong crowd after that and it went downhill from there.

Floyd Mayweather is richer than any football player
GoBills808 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 cool Where is the control data? Likely the autopsies of similarly aged men over a given period of time.
Fadingpain Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Is it a fringe sport? Floyd Mayweather is richer than any football player Yes, boxing is most certainly a fringe sport, even if 3 or 4 guys in the world, at any point in time, make enormous money. That's just a function of the economics of the sport, not it's overall popularity or widespread appeal.
Best Player Available Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Football ------ "A violent game that I personally don't think humans are supposed to play" Statement on 5/24/16 by Doug whaley ex NFL GM. Doug is currently out of the NFL.
boyst Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Likely the autopsies of similarly aged men over a given period of time.ok. But can we see the control study?
