Beane wasn't hired yet when the draft went down; Whaley was still here, though I'd imagine McD had a tremendous influence on the picks.

Based upon Whaley's track record, there is no way someone could logically conclude Whaley would have traded down and picked him.

White has looked like a pretty solid pick so far, but as for Rookie of the Year hardware I always wonder if you can win it without gaudy statics like interceptions....

I don't think that you can but you can be important. He will be one of our most underappreciated players in the near future.

Whaley did make comments when he left about giving the new regime a gift with the extra 1st rounder from KC in next years draft.

However I do believe that McDermot had the final say on the White pick because he's a DB that fits this scheme perfectly and obviously with Gilmore bolting to the Pats it once again became a priority need.

Darby was amazing in his first year also...then regressed badly in year two...hopefully we don't have The same thing happen with White...

I am with this. We have had two games to evaluate players on both offense and defense. Applaud for the work thus far. But let's all pump the brakes before we give any player a crown.

Darby looked good year 1 as well

Exactly as have many other guys whose play seemed to get worse in Buffalo as their careers went on here. And in Darby's case the scheme or coaching didn't even change from year one to year two yet he still fell off a cliff.

He sucks too

Really?!? He seems like a guy that watches a lot of football and has a great grasp for the nuances of the game. His dad must have been a coach. Those guys at PFF don't even know what they are looking at. Edited by Kirby Jackson

In trying to get their analysis out as quickly as possible their staff is forced to assign grades based on the broadcast footage, which is ridiculous. They do go back and fix the grades based on all-22, but they certainly have some questionable results.

Of course, but they watch more football than anyone. Their system is a little flawed at times but of all of the analysis out there they are paying the closest attention. That's why it's ludicrous for anyone to dismiss their work because you don't agree with it.
