YoloinOhio Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) This story makes me sick. They call it hazing but it's assault. http://www.dispatch.com/sports/20170919/chris-spielmans-son-noah-faces-charges-after-wheaton-college-hazing Edited September 19, 2017 by YoloinOhio
YoloinOhio Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 Well at least the college made them write an 8 page essay and let them keep playing football. Wtf!
Koko78 Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Well at least the college made them write an 8 page essay and let them keep playing football. Wtf! I'd say it was a significant punishment, but let's be honest - the players made their homework nerds write the essays for them.
The Poojer Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 it's a christian college, they will ask for god's forgiveness and all will be forgiven......
Gugny Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 We live in a society where bullies are among the most popular people. Bullying is celebrated beginning in grade school and it doesn't stop. It's sick.
row_33 Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Isn't Wheaton a Christian college, so I guess drinking fortunately wasn't involved.
Mark Vader Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Gross. How embarrassing for Chris. A couple of notes: "The victim, who the Tribune is not naming, left the conservative Christian school in Illinois shortly after the incident and now attends college in Indiana." Why is this phrase used? What does it have to do with the story? Weird. "Each year, Wheaton athletes must sign an anti-hazing policy that prohibits them from humiliating, degrading, abusing and endangering another person when they join a campus team or organization." You have to SIGN an anti-hazing policy? This is incredible. Hazing should not exist in the first place! Good grief.
Augie Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Sickening. Nothing cute or innocent about that crap. I hope they get to the bottom of this and everybody gets what they deserve. It's also horrible that the felons' parents have to endure the shame of their children's horrendous behavior. I feel for all those affected here.
billsfanmiami(oh) Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Goes way beyond "hazing". Horrible stuff.
Saxum Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Well at least the college made them write an 8 page essay and let them keep playing football. Wtf! They probably had their student assistants write it for them.
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 it's a christian college, they will ask for god's forgiveness and all will be forgiven...... Beat me to it!
Augie Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 it's a christian college, they will ask for god's forgiveness and all will be forgiven...... As long as the D.A. Is less forgiving, I'm fine with that.
The Poojer Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 As long as the D.A. Is less forgiving, I'm fine with that.
Kelly the Dog Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 The team was ordered to throw three Hail Marys in the next game and all if forgotten and forgiven.
Lurker Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 it's a christian college, they will ask for god's forgiveness and all will be forgiven......
apuszczalowski Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Maybe Richie can go down there and mentor them?
