Exactly. Not to mention the Carolina CB complained a couple tines about OPI. And Boom got a call. I wouldnt call Carolina CBs superstars either

Well it was offensive PI, so should have been called even in a key spot.

By rule yes. But doesnt get called there IMO without the CB being in the refs ear

Yup. I haven't watched a lot of games other than our own so far but in ours I think officiating has been decent so far.

Julio Jones does the same exact play Holmes did at least three times a game is he ever called?

agree, but this time it was called, and the refs then "appeared" to overturn it based on Brady lobbying.

Kind of like the DPI in the endzone on the hail mary play in the "just give it to em game" . Is there DPI prolly every hail mary? yep. Is it ever called? Nope

But that time it was called, and the refs had the stones to stick by their call.

Lobbying? Thats questionable. He went to the head official and said thats legal. Head official then called his huddle and likely asked the back judge (who in no way can see the distance from the LOS to the pick) to explain what he saw. Then asked the Line Judge (who should have been the one to make the call). What he saw. Line judge likely said well it was within a yard.

Call correctly changed.

Yes. That is the beef.

Normally a player griping about a penalty is directed away from the officials' huddle by one of the officials. He is not allowed to influence the decision or make his case. It appeared that they took Brady's complaint into consideration and allowed it to influence their decision to reverse a "judgement" call.

It was B.S. But what else do you expect it this Brady is untouchable league.

So would you call it BS if it was TT and Bills. Be honest. Would there be a thread about Special Treatment?????

No.

But that is because questionable calls (and non-calls) don't usually go the Bills way. They usually go the Patriot's way. It is an issue primarily because it is Tom Brady and the Patriots doing the influencing.

Ok got it. So its BS because its the Patriots.

It would be B.S. either way - but less people would care - except those fans of the team that lost the call.

Whether or not I "care" about the call is irrelevant to whether the call was B.S. or not.

Ref made a judgement call. Player influence looked like it changed his mind. That shouldn't happen regardless. Normally players are turned away from official huddles like that so that they don't draw another penalty. Instead, Brady is allowed to plead his case. It is B.S. no matter who it is.

Didn't Hughes once try to plead his case on a B.S. call and then get a second flag for that? Maybe my memory is off but I could swear he did.

Didn't Brady also call too many men on the field after the officials didn't throw a flag? It sucks that the refs need that kind of help calling the game, sucks, but the Patriots are masters of using the rule book to their advantage

Have you done any reffing?

A more talented team pushes the game levels and gets advantages over the inferior team.

That's hard to believe as one official's entire job is counting the players on the field, if it was really close or disputable then it might have happened.

Yes I believe you are correct. Couldn't swear to it though.

Want to start getting the benefit of doubt with the officials. Start winning football games consistently

I don't recall whining when Bruce was hurling holy terror down on opposing QBs.

Someone last year had an anecdote that a WR was complaining to his father about being held against the rules, and his father told him he had better soon learn to break out of that holding and produce anyway or come home and start selling used cars for a living.

Hard to tell where the LOS are because Centers routinely move the ball closer to themselves on shotgun snaps. To me the yard marker is clearly inside the 13. Contact startered at the 12.

But neither here or there tie is always going to the offense in a passing league. But at the end of the day it doesnt matter.

NEWSFLASH to those that want to complain Superstars get calls. Happens all over the League.
