At least we fleeced the Rams in this trade, too bad it will be a late 2nd round pick though because the Rams look like a playoff team.

Our wins mean nothing because they are all diminished. Rams beat Cowboys, Colts, 49ers, and Jags so they look like a playoff team. Awesome logic.

I'm keeping a list so I can send them stats at the end of the year.

Because being right is just plain better than being wrong.

isnt it amazing how some people just don't get it. They just keep going down with the ship. The most hilarious thing is they still defend and try and justify their opinions as being correct.

They can easily pick up a conditional 3rd.

Look at our WRs, now.

We basically got Gaines and moved our 3rd to the 2d.

Doubtful at best.

You guys know literally nothing about football.

Sammy had another outstanding game. By playing the perfect decoy, it resulted in woods having 70 yards and Kupp another 35 yards. So that is technically over 100 yards attributable to Sammy. Those decoy yards are equivalent to real receiving yards, per the NFL Hall

Of Fame Commitee.

I hope some NFL team pays this selfless, game-changing player big dollars in the offseason.

Solid arguments. He needs to get paid NBA-like money.

So a 2019 3rd round comp pick... pick 100 of the draft basically...

Or pick a 2018 2nd round pick... a full year earlier and likely pick say 50....

Thats a fair amount of value. Plus we got a corner and dont have to worry about comp picks and a net loss etc in free agency.

Watkins probably is a good WR. Will occasionally have a very good game. But hes not a top WR. Wish him well.

Missing Robert Woods. He was reliable and consistent.

We should have traded Sammy two years ago and kept Woods :D:beer:

I've had knuckleheads try to take premature victory laps so many times on TSW...........you should know this and be wary.

There was a long list of idiots telling me I was wrong about Mike Williams because Bryant McKinnie had a rough rookie year........

Jason Peters was a bum per people like you.........this very site was loaded with such posts for almost two years until they started realizing he was on his way to the HOF.....

Same with Lynch........they traded him and he didn't do much in his first season........next season the beast quake hit and the "oh f*ck" moment descended upon them.....

That's just a few........the list of accurate takes is very long.

Never thought Jason Peters was a bum. Thought he was an idiot and an ingrate. Not a bum.

Before we get too excited about Gaines- he missed all of 2015, wasn't effective last season recovering, already pretty banged up this season... and he's a free agent after this season. Do you give someone that misses so much time a long term deal?

TRANSCRIPT: Sean McVay Conference Call

(On the connection between QB Jared Goff and WR Sammy Watkins)

“I think the pass game involves so much. There’s a couple opportunities that we had – it’s the same thing we’ve talked about with the run game, it takes all 11, well so does the pass. It isn’t exclusive to just the quarterback and receiver. You’ve got to protect, everybody’s got to distribute the field accordingly. There’s some opportunities that we’ve had to get the ball in Sammy’s hands and unfortunately these last couple weeks we haven’t capitalized on it. But, when we only have 11 completions, that’s never going to be good enough to be able to try to play at the level offensively that we want. But again, we’ve kind of adjusted based on the way that the game flowed – didn’t throw it as many times as you’ve seen, but we’re interested in trying to win games. There were some opportunities that, when you go back and you look at it, if everybody’s executing, everybody’s on the screws, we get some plays to him that maybe change the discussion that we’re having. But that’s why football is the greatest team sport there is, because there’s some plays that the receiver and quarterback are always responsible for making, but it isn’t exclusive to just those guys when it comes to the pass game.”

I know, I know.......he was an ingrate cuz he disrespected your boy Russ Brandon........who handled the situation brilliantly and had no other choice.:cry:

But If memory serves me correctly, the Bills did pay him once but he kept pouting and even dogged it in some games. That he was a phenomenal talent was without any doubt but IMHO the FO probably wondered how long he will be happy for after a second raise. That is why he was not retained. Not many players make a switch to a different position very well (Kordell Stewart as an example) but Peters made a massive switch and quite successfully. I wish the Bills and his agent had figured out a way to keep him here. We spent years attempting to find a competent LT, let alone a very good one.

With the mediocre start for Watkins, it's highly unlikely that he commands that big contract. It's just frustrating because if he had stayed with the Bills I think TT would've made his presence count. Who knows where he'll land next year?

He may not be a superstar but he would be getting more catches here. I still trust McD to create the culture and my guess is they didn't see Sammy as part of that. Got something for nothing in that respect.
