Kelly the Dog Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 I haven't seen an explanation or replay of this. McD said after the game it was a coach and not a player who got in the ref's way. That dude was pissed. Ha. Does anyone know which coach or what he actually did? Was he on the field or just in the ref's way along the sideline? I have seen a lot of refs hit or stumble or get bowled over but I don't think I have ever seen a ref that mad.
FluffHead Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 (edited) It was special assistant chuck Lester http://www.buffalobills.com/team/coaches/chuck-lester/fa3d78e8-ff9f-4a03-90ed-d8760ae76b47?qwr=fullsite_temporary Edited September 18, 2017 by FluffHead
Zamboni Man Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 (edited) No replay at the stadium today, was wondering what happened. Edited September 18, 2017 by Zamboni Man
Fadingpain Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 I agree he looked mad. I noticed some trainer for the Bills was kissing the wounded official's ass a bit, handing him a fresh towel and giving him a water bottle for a drink. He seemed to be extra attentive, trying to butter the SJ up so as to avoid some sort of bench penalty, which made me laugh.

He was trying to chase down the official... "Give me back my stapler..." hahahahaha Edited September 18, 2017 by matter2003
Augie Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 I would have a couple times, good thing I was watching on TV. Wife was busy and bail might have been tricky...
Dr.Sack Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Chuck Lester gets fired tomorrow if I'm Russ Brandon.
Heavy Kevi Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 It was special assistant chuck Lester http://www.buffalobills.com/team/coaches/chuck-lester/fa3d78e8-ff9f-4a03-90ed-d8760ae76b47?qwr=fullsite_temporary Haha, from that link "The longest tenured coach in Bills history, Lester currently serves as the assistant to head coach Dick Jauron" Looks like they need to update his bio.
Chandler#81 Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Figures. The one main positive I took from this game -aside from a fine performance by the Defense, was the notable lack of penalties, which was a common theme for years. Turns out, it's because we took out a referee and 'sent a message' to the other refs, 'You're Next!'
Hammered a Lot Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Guys, Chuck Lester was let go years ago. . Chuck still lives in the Orchard Park area. I run into him every once and a while,
JMF2006 Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Guys, Chuck Lester was let go years ago. But he's still on the sidelines Some guys just won't leave
Just Jack Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 But he's still on the sidelines Some guys just won't leave That's the new assistant coach, Luck Chester. Started a few years ago. Some say him and Chuck could have been brothers they look so much alike.
K D Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 id love to see a video of what happened to the ref. what a baby that he left the game. he just wanted the day off and some kind of injury settlement i'm guessing

Sherlock Holmes Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 But he's still on the sidelines Some guys just won't leave Doesn't collect a paycheck, just walks around asking where Jauron is.
Koko78 Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Turns out, it's because we took out a referee and 'sent a message' to the other refs, 'You're Next!' I, for one, am ok with this.

Was waiting for him to stick that thumb in his mouth on the way to the locker room. I, for one, am ok with this. Love it lol
I'm Spartacus Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 (taking a queue from Cookie Gilchrist): whoever hit the ref on the sidelines should have yelled at the Officiating crew = "which one of you son's of bitches is next!"
