Beast Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Maybe. Pretty amazing for sure. Hope they don't waste it in a Billsy fashion.
Jasovon Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Not a chance, we're good but not great we've played two bad teams.
Beast Posted September 17, 2017 Author Posted September 17, 2017 Not a chance, we're good but not great we've played two bad teams. Not a chance? Yeah, I think there is a hell of a chance they have a great defense.
Numark3 Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Yea it could be a top 5 defense by the end of this year. They need to keep adding talent to it, but its a great foundation
Big Turk Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 (edited) 78 offensive plays, 256 yards allowed and 9 points...teams have 0 success running the ball. I don't know about best in NFL but it's damn good. Edited September 17, 2017 by matter2003
Jasovon Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Not a chance? Yeah, I think there is a hell of a chance they have a great defense. not the best in the NFL which was the question.
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 (edited) ..hate to say it, but that goes back to loudmouth's Wrecks proclamation that this club would be a run first offense.....and how are you run first with only ONE stallion in the stable ala Shady?....I missed the memo....defense is back...offense is in the Witness Protection Program............. C.Biscuit97 Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Cam was rusty. They were marching all over us. But it is a much improved defense and just shows how much of a joke Rex was. This D has been loaded with talent for 5 years.
Perry Turtle Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 (edited) The best defense in the NFL would have closed the door in the 4th quarter. With the game on the line, Carolina went on an 8 minute drive. The best defense in the league would have stepped on their throat in the 4th. Not to say that they aren't a good defense, or a great defense, but they're not the best defense. Edited September 17, 2017 by Perry Turtle
Dorkington Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Not the best, but definitely improved over last year.
Big Turk Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Yea it could be a top 5 defense by the end of this year. They need to keep adding talent to it, but its a great foundation The thing I like most is even when a play against happens they swarm to the ball...4 players tackling the ball carrier many times...that's a recipe for success anywhere. Cam was rusty. They were marching all over us. But it is a much improved defense and just shows how much of a joke Rex was. This D has been loaded with talent for 5 years. Yes...78 plays for 256 yards averaging under 4 yards a play...marching all over us...amazing how some people see the game the way they want it.
Beast Posted September 17, 2017 Author Posted September 17, 2017 not the best in the NFL which was the question. And, again, there certainly IS a chance. The best defense in the NFL would have closed the door in the 4th quarter. With the game on the line, Carolina went on an 8 minute drive. The best defense in the league would have stepped on their throat in the 4th. Not to say that they aren't a good defense, or a great defense, but they're not the best defense. Cripes. Did you watch the !@#$ing game? It was damned amazing the defense held up when the offense couldn't stay onthe field. 9 !@#$ing points allowed and we have people like you.
Iron Maiden Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 We have a good D for sure....but I don't think we're the BEST in the NFL..... we've played the Jets and a OK Panthers offense...let's see what we do vs Matt Ryan, Drew Brees and Tom Brady....then we'll know how good we are on D.....

Koko78 Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 The only bad thing I've seen about the defense is the gigantic holes they leave in the zone coverage scheme. Brady will shred them. Otherwise, they've been playing fantastically.
SaviorPeterman Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Still too early to know, let's see what they do against Brady and some of the other elite QB's well be playing in the coming weeks. Impressive so far against McNown and Newton (who obviously is still not healthy) but we will be facing much better. Rushing defense has been rock solid and I still think the LB's are a major liability in coverage and that will be exposed soon enough. Just too bad this defense couldn't have generated at least one turnover today or it might have been the difference in terms of winning.
