Ya, ok...

What, you don't think a lot of nfl coaches can't manage the clock? Some are incredibly bad at it

You started this thread with a post that said a surprising number of NFL coaches CANNOT manage the clock and the Bills need to hire a clock management specialist. So yes, you did say that.

I have been saying teams should do that long before we hired our coach, and they should. If you read my posts, I said all teams should do that.

I said he had issues today and hopefully he gets better at, I'm not dumb enough to judge how he coaches in anyway from 2 games. So again, I didn't say that and your post was off-base. Seriously quote me saying he can't manage the clock, I'll wait.

Making an issue out of a non-issue. Ther are two sides to clock management late---scoring and then making sure the other team doesn't have enough time to do anything with 2 timeouts themselves.

This wasn't a real issue, this is just you trying to think of what you'd do in Madden and then trying to justify it in the NFL.

I don't play games. And when you are down by 6 with 40 seconds left at their 40, it is 100% about saving time and 0% about not letting the other team have time left....that sounds like madden talk lol. haha yea we dont want to leave them 10 seconds instead of 4, better waste some time :w00t:

Uhhhh I just did. Literally, the post you used to start this thread says "cannot manage".

the one when i am talking about nfl coaches in general? Hey its not might fault you came in to the thread insulting me for no reason, inferred something I didn't mean or say, and then want to argue about it. The fact many nfl coaches struggle with it is a pet peeve of mine, I hope our coach isn't one of them. I am talking about one specific play and not generalizing it. Is that the hardest concept for you to understand?

I'm not going to teach you how to read and make inferences....but I can tell you when a coach makes a bad decision about saving the clock

Seriously? You're going to backtrack that far? Based on what you posted the logical conclusion is that you think McDermott cannot manage the clock. There is no way around that is what you were saying.

Ok, think whatever you want. That isn't what I said or what I meant. I'm glad you are in my head and want to argue about it, I don't. Go practice logical reasoning elsewhere

Also I did not mean to insult you personally. I never said you were stupid. I said the statement/premise of the thread was stupid.

lol troll elsewhere. Something is over your head.

Again, seriously? You wrote "What is going on there? A surprising amount of NFL coaches cannot manage the clock. Yet a college student can make a hierarchy of when to call a timeout at exact moments of a game to save the most clock. Him failing to call a TO with less than 40 seconds to go after a run was crazy."

So you weren't indicating that McDermott is one of the coaches who cannot manage a clock? Which would mean you have zero issue with how he managed the clock for the Carolina game. Which would mean you would have never started this thread. There is literally nothing else you could have meant by this thread other than "McDermott cannot manage the clock." Sure, if you had started this thread in the preseason, or any other time not after a loss when the announcer specifically disagreed with the clock management, maybe I would buy what your selling. But, given the circumstances, and what you typed, "McDermott cannot manage the clock" is either what you meant, or you did a poor job expressing your thoughts in writing.

You should probably stop trying to defend your stupid thread.

haha Thank you

So I am going to chime in, and say that trying to go short to the sidelines with no timeouts with 12 seconds left, WHILE ALREADY IN FG RANGE, is objectively bad clock management. With a good decision making QB (I am a tyrod-fan, but come on), it would be a fine call. But why put the ball in taylor's hands with 12 seconds left merely to gain a few yards on a short field goal. The risk way outweighes the reward, as we all saw.

Concerning playcall in terms of how good of a grasp our coaches have with clock management

The BILLS have long been one of the dumbest strategic teams in the NFL. That call may very well be the worst one ever - right on par with some of Marrone's biggest gaffes.

Unbelievably bad choice for a pass.

I mean taylor's choice was god awful. But I don't know why that play was even run in the first place

Exactly....that played should have never been called!

Bills need to hire a time management guy to call timeouts at the end of a game

4-2

Literally nothing else matters.
