Bills fan since 87 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Classic. And one where a late game missed kick went went our way. As good a game as I've ever seen.
hondo in seattle Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 One of the funnest games I've ever seen - even if funnest isn't a word. The NFL may last hundreds of years but this game will always be in the record books. Those two offenses were on fire.
Buffalo Boy Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Watched it with My Son on Fathers Day. Those WERE the days!
Rockpile233 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Must be cool to have good memories. My memory of the Bills 49'rs was a 10-3 game that I consider the worst game I have ever seen.
Kelly the Dog Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 One of the most fun games I ever witnessed in person. The 49ers fans were extremely smug in those days.
K D Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Doug Marrone single handedly made up for the lack of punts in that game in his 1 season with the Bills
Mark Vader Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 I was there. The greatest game I have ever seen in my life.
hondo in seattle Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) One of the most fun games I ever witnessed in person. The 49ers fans were extremely smug in those days. I watched some 49er games in San Fran. Smug indeed back in the day. And almost indifferent if the opponent wasn't a strong one. Some fans didn't even bother to get up on their feet and cheer when the team scored. Scoring was expected. They'd go wild for a long Rice TD, of course, but if was a 1 yard plunge - boring! They're far more humble now. Edited September 13, 2017 by hondo in seattle
Gordio Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) One of the most fun games I ever witnessed in person. The 49ers fans were extremely smug in those days. So were Bills fans. With good reason, those were the two best offenses in the league & it wasn't close. That was one of the best games I have ever watched. Watched it with my dad. I remember Metz, stumbling for what seemed like a lifetime into the end zone on one of the pass plays. I miss those days. Edited September 13, 2017 by Gordio

Cocky v. Smug. Minor but noticeable difference. I would say that smug is slightly more annoying.
row_33 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 made up for it with punter Moorman getting the green sticker on his helmet for many years.
Saxum Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Saw this on the internet I won a tape of that game in a raffle a long time ago and it is buried in a box somewhere in garage. Must be cool to have good memories. My memory of the Bills 49'rs was a 10-3 game that I consider the worst game I have ever seen. Do you think it has anything to do with you being there? Don't blame yourself!
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 remember the game well. I believe that was about the time boomer started his bills/49ers superbowl predictions?
Freddie's Dead Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Awesome game. The Bills-9ers Superbowl that Boomer never got.
The Wiz Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 I won a tape of that game in a raffle a long time ago and it is buried in a box somewhere in garage. it's probably garbage by now. Heat would likely have destroyed it.
klos63 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) I was there. The greatest game I have ever seen in my life. Me too. Amazing game. Edited September 13, 2017 by klos63
DC Tom Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 I remember being dizzy after watching that game on TV. Then in the post-game, listening to Talley describe how he was dizzy after playing that game. I can't believe 49ers fans wanted Bono to start over Steve Young.
