Saxum Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Why not keep Mabin and release one of the thousands of DLs this team has. As my debate teacher taught me "Exaggeration is the first tool used by those mentally unprepared for a battle of wits."
GunnerBill Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I like the Dupre move as it goes. I had a 4th round grade on him.
Billzgobowlin Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I thought we were going to bring back Hodges after the first game for a discount - guess they like Jenkins better fixed Jenkins is better
likei've Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Sounds like Humber may be a liability in coverage, so perhaps Jenkins is being brought in as a 3rd down back. His interception begs to differ.
JohnBonhamRocks Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Aaron? Allstate should hire Aaron "Mayhem" Maybin to be the replacement when the current "Mayhem like me" guy retires. Bills are THIN at corner wow. You're right - 185, 192, 194, and 184 - not a guy over 200 lbs!
Mat68 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Agreed. Jenkins should (hopefully) be a nice fit in McD's defense and provide an upgrade in coverage. This could be a nice cheap impact signing (assuming they signed him cheap...). This is an added benefit to having an early bye. Some of these players brought in the last week get time to assimulate and after the bye be productive on the active roster.
145B4IDIE Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 As my debate teacher taught me "Exaggeration is the first tool used by those mentally unprepared for a battle of wits." Always attributed that reference to Churchill 'Never engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.'
Coach Tuesday Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Jenkins was genuinely one of the worst linebackers in the NFL last season. I get that he fits the McDermott profile of a linebacker but man..... he has a long way to go to persuade me he improves this roster. He was playing on an injured knee.
GunnerBill Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 He was playing on an injured knee. He has battled some injuries I will give you that but his play on the field just hasn't been good. I quite liked him coming out too but the fact is in the NFL he has been consistently overwhelmed against the run and has been inconsistent in coverage. He is a good blitzer but I don't get the sense that this defense is going to be sending blitzes on a regular basis. His best season was Philbin's last full season as Head Coach in Miami and if we got him for around vet minimum and he returns to that form he is decent depth but I still don't see him as a starter. If we get the Jenkins of the past couple of years he isn't even worth a spot on the roster.
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 ....at least this gang is churning the roster 24/7 like Whaley did....Nix and his gang would now be in hibernation 'til April...........
Rubes Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 His interception begs to differ. A pick on a deflected 2-point conversion hardly provides a good counter argument.
Beast Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Why not keep Mabin and release one of the thousands of DLs this team has. Seriously, dude worked his tail off in the preseason and showed flashes that he could be good. Instead, we release a healthy player and sign someone who is hurt. That doesn't make much sense to me. I also feel McBeane is in my head. Literally, every player I like on the Bills they have gotten around to getting rid of recently, except McCoy. Ever think they may know a little more about these players than you do? ....at least this gang is churning the roster 24/7 like Whaley did....Nix and his gang would now be in hibernation 'til April........... Pete Carrol's first year in Seattle brought about, I believe, over 100 player transactions.
Rocky Landing Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 They cut Daikiel? Not Daikiel! I'm a little disappointed, myself.
BillsSbSoon Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 ....at least this gang is churning the roster 24/7 like Whaley did....Nix and his gang would now be in hibernation 'til April........... Oh really cause mike gillislee and justin hunter appeared out of thin air? Whaleys pro personnel moves were great. He didnt hibernate
JerseyBills Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 A pick on a deflected 2-point conversion hardly provides a good counter argument.I didn't make that point but how about the fact he was flying around the field, lead team in tackles and was at least average in coverage?
section122 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Oh really cause mike gillislee and justin hunter appeared out of thin air? Whaleys pro personnel moves were great. He didnt hibernate I think you misread the post.
