Doc Brown Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 This just shows that you need more than just a good QB to win. Saints have a hall of fame QB and will probably miss the playoffs once again True and I'd call Brees as an elite QB rather than simply good, but the fact still remains you need a franchise QB to have sustained success in this league.
bobobonators Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 is this sean payton's last season with Saints if they finish 7-9 or worse again?
mannc Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Extend the game by going for the FG. You go for it and get nothing.....Game Over down three scores at 26-9. You should familiarize yourself with analytics. Going for 3 was a horrible move there.

Elite is right. Hall of fame lock. No doubter. His career numbers are almost like a video game. But hey, at least he got that 1, unlike Marino...or Kelly.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 You should familiarize yourself with analytics. Going for 3 was a horrible move there. What does analytics say about being in scoring territory three previous times without getting in?
BillsFan130 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 True and I'd call Brees as an elite QB rather than simply good, but the fact still remains you need a franchise QB to have sustained success in this league. Yep exactly!
billsfan714 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Isnt a 2 point conversion over 50 percent success rate? Thats about how far that 4th down would of been. Just how many chances like that do you think you are going to get in the last 8 mins. It was Jauronish.
mannc Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 What does analytics say about being in scoring territory three previous times without getting in? Doesn't matter. Their only chance to win was to score a TD there. Minnesota with the ball, up 14 with 8 minutes left spells game over. "Extending the game" is meaningless.

mannc Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Analytics that! @sn590gbrady Drew Brees in red zone passing tonight - 2 of 7, 16 yards. How'd that field goal work out?
NoSaint Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 Analytics that! @sn590gbrady Drew Brees in red zone passing tonight - 2 of 7, 16 yards. So your using that to bet that he gets there twice and gets in both times in the last 8 (with Vikings getting the ball first)

Maybe he'll take your collective analytics' advice next time.
NoSaint Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 Talk to the SB winning coach. Maybe he'll take your collective analytics' advice next time. Sean's not done well by the numbers for several years. I'd venture you can count him as high as nearly any reason drew isn't seeing more wins. He's terribly inconsistent the last several years.

Their free agent player acquisitions and cap management have been horrendous in recent years as evidenced by one Mr. Byrd as you know I'm sure.
bobobonators Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I'm just curious, but will these "garbage time" stats count for Brees? Or do they stop keeping stats after the 2nd quarter here? I remember that being a very important point for Tyrod haters last season. hey look! a really high throw for a WR in the end zone and it was caught! Was that a good pass or a bad pass by Brees?

I'm normally the one that gives the speech - and galette and Graham were even worse contracts for them. That said, if you think Sean can't be questioned, you haven't watched him much since the super bowl season. He's wildly inconsistent. And yea, that's both on the field and in the front office.

He's certainly fallible like all coaches.

Dablitzkrieg Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I don't know if it's voodoo or what, but Saints at home are a different team. That is a very good point actually.
