Saxum
His team won an AFC South division game with Tom Savage at QB part of game. Color me impressed. Corrected.
GunnerBill
You're wrong, i think. Marrone is not likable, but he is a good football coach. Agree. Said that when he was here as well and at the time it felt like a minority opinion at times.
eball
If the Jags can do that to the Texans, that sorry division might be their's for the taking, the talent is sure there. Colts are brutal, and Marrone > Meathead. Agreed.
CommonCents
That A-hole is a good football coach. His team's are prepared and physical. They play to their talent level. He is the best coach that we have had in the drought. He's just an a-hole. I agree. It would be a fun storyline if he can make them compete each week, they have the talent. Robinson went down, does that means he lets Hurns out of the dog house this week?
eball
I'll always despise St. Doug the person, but it's true the Bills were at their most competitive during the drought when he was here.
Malazan
He'll be ok during year 1 which he will believe entitles him to godhood status. Get your popcorn ready for when that happens with him and coughlin.
Wayne Arnold
The Marrone praise in this thread is puzzling. Marrone was lucky that Pettine and then Schwartz were available to be the DC when he was hired here. Those two defensive coordinators were the ones responsible for the Bills being competitive while Marrone was here. Marrone is an "offensive" coach and the offense was a shite-show in both years. He was a supposed offensive line guru, yet the OLine never performed worse than when he was here. He's a horrible game manager who punts/kicks in every opportunity, disregarding percentages. The Bills went *9-7 in 2014 (supposedly a monumental accomplishment in the eyes of Bills fans) in spite of Marrone, not because of him.

Marrone is not an offensive genius, but he is a leader and a true head coach. He is very much like Tom Coughlin.

Marrone had EJ Manuel, Thad Lewis, and Jeff Tuel at QB and still managed the #2 rushing attack with old man Fred and CJ Spiller, a bad OL, and no #1 WR. You're incorrect. Good, just not like we have have seen the last few years. Of course not. We have had Shady, Tyrod, Watkins, Richie and Miller. Instead of Fred/CJ, EJ, Stevie, Colin Brown and Urbik. It was still good. To run the ball even "good" with that group is a feat.
BuffaloBud
I thought his post game "wildest dream" comment was classic. Other than that he's "meh" to me.

26CornerBlitz
I will partially credit the bad showing of the Texans to the turmoil caused by Hurricane Harvey.

SoTier
No, he's not. And no he won't. Today was a fluke against a bad team. Jaguars will come back down to Earth as soon as next week (although Titans aren't much better). Believe whatever you want to believe but I watched much of the game, and totally agree that Marrone is a decent HC and will get more out of that team than you think. The Jags looked good, especially on defense where their pass rushers literally overwhelmed Savage on just about pass attempt, and on offense they made Bortles look respectable, which was probably quite a feat. Oh, yeah, they went into the Texans' house and dominated them ... and the Texans aren't the Jests.
