T-Bomb Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Can't believe Dareus wasn't named a captain as well. Captin SmokeStak
eball Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Hauschka is 32, a seasoned vet who's seen it all and kicked in two Superbowls. He has a ring. Good choice. Also sends a clear message of how important the Bills view ST.
WMDman Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I'm not sure they will be using Hyde on special teams. He is the starting safety in a thin group. [/quote/] Good point
JohnBonhamRocks Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 ^ Plus, re: Hyde and special teams, one would think with the amount of back-up players we are supposedly keeping on the roster for their special teams ability that we would not need to have starters on offense or defense also playing special teams.
Kirby Jackson Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I was expecting Ducasse, Yates on offense, Gaines and Leonard Johnson on defense and Tolbert on ST.
BobbyC81 Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Any former Jets in that group? Surprised there aren't any ex-Panthers. 4 of 5 were on team before regime change
RoyBatty is alive Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 What ever happened to that "committee" of team leaders or whatever he was going to form.
Kirby Jackson Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 What ever happened to that "committee" of team leaders or whatever he was going to form.Same guys probably
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Surprised there aren't any ex-Panthers. 4 of 5 were on team before regime change per Rex Ryans choices - that would be next weeks captains
GETTOTHE50 Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 sure, good choices. i guess tyrod had to get one since he's QB. though, i still dont care for the concept of 'captains' in the NFL. It makes sense in hockey, in the NFL i dont see it as important.
H2o Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Shocked they didn't name Dareus as a captain since he has the most suitable hat. well played sir
LABILLBACKER Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Shocked they didn't name Dareus as a captain since he has the most suitable hat. You didn't hear?....Marcel was named captain Kangaroo.
frostbitmic Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 FYI: Team Captains were not selected by McDermott. They were elected by the players. So that's why Vlad wasn't elected Captain .... ok.
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Can't believe Dareus wasn't named a captain as well. ...because he earned it??... seriously??....good Lord......
YoloinOhio Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 No shady?maybe if he starts inviting them to his ladies nights
JMF2006 Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 sure, good choices. i guess tyrod had to get one since he's QB. though, i still dont care for the concept of 'captains' in the NFL. It makes sense in hockey, in the NFL i dont see it as important. TT was voted by his peers for his leadership,he just happens to be the QB. If Peterman was the starter I doubt he gets voted captain.
Scott7975 Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 The only surprise is Hauschka. I'm wondering how often a K gets named a permanent captain. And since (I think) McDermott takes this seriously, I'm guessing he's also some kind of locker room presence? Probably quite a bit. Special teams captain. Moorman was named captain as well. Of course at a time he may have been the best player on the team lol.
YoloinOhio Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I'm very glad TT was voted captain. Typically if the starting QB isn't a captain there is a reason behind it. He's almost always the leader of the team.
