Frez Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 It's the going price of the NFL these days. It's not going down anytime soon, so you better be ready to pay for the players you want!

Otherwise we're going to start seeing a lot of teams playing with nearly no depth at some key positions. Which in turn means they also need to slash the preseason in half and put some more rules in place to avoid injuires. It just isn't good for football.

Nate is way better than Lucas is! WE"RE DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEDDD 261402 That's not what it said, but it's an extremely risky contract for the Panthers, even if those numbers in the report are true. It did say he will get 8 million per year in the first two years, and that the total bonus money will be 13.5-14 million, but that is not paid in the first two years. The bonus money is some now, and some a few years later, probably in year 4 or 5, which he likely will never see. But the fact that they are risking 16 million in the first two years (again, if this report on the numbers is true) is a ridiculous risk IMO for Ken Lucas, who is quite good but not great. It might be that he is guaranteed a total of 8 million in the first two years, not averaging 8 mil per.

Kelly the Dog Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 How do the Raiders and Redskins do it every year? 261454 By being schitty?
BillsGuyInMalta Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 How do the Raiders and Redskins do it every year? 261454 Check out the Redskins record the last 5 years. Is it working? Isnt that all that matters?

Who wants to see a team full of FA's, 6th Rounders, and other teams' castoffs? Oh, wait. That's the Patriots.

IDBillzFan Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Is ours working? 261467 It's working better than the Redskins, that's for damn sure. At least they can go back to the glory days by bringing in the old coaches so it at least LOOKS like a team that used to win.
scribo Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Is ours working? 261467 We'd kick the hell out of the Deadskins any given Sunday.
Alaska Darin Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Is ours working? 261467 We'd look even better if we got to play 3/4ths of our games against the NFC.
BuffBills#1 Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 The Redskins aren't ever gonna be any good with Snyder. The Bills will just tag Clements next year and either give him the one year deal or trade him. We'll get something, I'm not too worried.
Buftex Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 That's nuts.....did Snyder take over the Panthers??? 261412 He is now so wealthy, he now runs both the Skins and the Panthers, and has his eye on the Ravens...it must have been charging for admission to summer training camp sessions that threw him over the top!
