Saint Doug Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 There's not any good data on this. Some great QBs sat, some started right away. Some QBs got ruined by starting too early but not all. I think in Peterman's case, his bad showing on blitzes coupled with our bad pass protection means he should sit a while. JMO But how can this ever be known? It's impossible to know. I'm not saying every rookie QB should be thrown to the wolves, some may take longer to develop. You evaluate this on a player-to-player basis. But to give a blanket statement that a QB must sit to develop, or would've became a great QB if he hadn't started so early, is categorically false. After well over 60 years of football, there's still no evidence to suggest this and even still, the league is constantly changing over the years.
Magox Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 There are plenty of NFL evaluators and analysts that believe that Peterman's arm is strong enough for this league. Based on the velocity that I've seen him rip some of the 15 yard throws, I don't believe that his arm strength will be a big issue at all. The question for me is, can he remain poised the way he has looked in preseason when NFL starters are coming at him from all sorts of angles with exotic blitzes and looks? If he can do that, then from my perspective it is only a matter of time before he supplants T.T
BUFFALOKIE Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 its a quality for sure!! I just saw the gif posted of his 25 yard throw...lightnig quick motion....arm strength my ass...wind up and throw in 1.21 milliseconds is definitely a good trait!
Kmart128 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Well Anderson might just get cut before this game is over.
Kelly the Dog Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 i certainly did. IMO QB is mostly between the ears. Knowing where and how to put the ball into your playmakers hands > raw physical talent. How many guys with cannons for arms burn out after a few years? Bradys scouting report was terrible, and most likely warranted. He wasnt great at Michigan, he didnt look like an NFL QB bodywise. The guy worked at it, but if all you have is the physical, and no football smarts. well, wont be playing long. Clearly Brady has the smarts. He gained the physical side later. Plus he made a deal with the devil. I was just messing with you. He's just not a good example because he is a freak of nature. 95% of sixth round QBs suck. 95% of weak armed QBs suck. 95% of lying cheaters suck.
BillsFan4 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Banyard has to have earned a spot at this point.
Gunsgoodtime Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 (edited) Well Anderson might just get cut before this game is over.how about Wenning? Looking better than Yates imo Right after I posted this, Tasker stated he looks better than TJ Yates and he had the whole preseason Edited September 1, 2017 by Gunsgoodtime
TPS Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 This is starting to look like a well coached team.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 This is starting to look like a well coached team. We'll see about that in 10 days.
GoBills808 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I was just messing with you. He's just not a good example because he is a freak of nature. 95% of sixth round QBs suck. 95% of weak armed QBs suck. 95% of lying cheaters suck. Just to be clear...you're talking about Brady and what's between his ears, right? Because he doesn't have a strong arm and physically is certainly no freak of nature.
EmotionallyUnstable Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Anyone else see Ducasse whiff on his block on the TD run?
WMDman Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Anyone else see Ducasse whiff on his block on the TD run? ...unfortunately
BillsFan4 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 This is starting to look like a well coached team. Agreed. Even the penalty issues seem to be more under control. You can't expect this stuff to happen overnight. Its going to take time but I'm already seeing progress IMO.
Kelly the Dog Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 This is starting to look like a well coached team. Yeah, I was mentioning that earlier. It's good to see all three phases playing well, and organized and not many penalties or turnovers.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 Anyone else see Ducasse whiff on his block on the TD run? Yeah. A total fall down whiff.
3rdand12 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I'm at work and missed almost the whole first half , I just found the game on the radio , Did Peterman do ok ? real well ! He is my #2 for sure
Magox Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 One of the more encouraging things about this game is that we haven't committed many penalties.
EmotionallyUnstable Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Holmes and Duc are done. Ryan Davis will cling on for now but I wouldn't be surprised if they hang onto a younger DE to replace him come week 10
Steptide Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I know it's the 4th pre season game against scrubs, but watching wenning drive down the field and make throws with one day's practice leaves me with even less hope for Tyrod
