boyst Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 If I had a plane, I'd drop pallets of water on their heads. you're a jerk. And obviously not that bright. Don't drop water, it'd be dangerous. Drop cups, there is already enough water!
ExiledInIllinois Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 (edited) if i didn't have a job, i'd take my kayak down there with bottles of water for the stranded. don't have a big boat, but the kayak could be nimble enough to get in there to at least get to the front linesScrew the yak... Don't want to add their rescue problems! Just get a crappy JonBoat... The crappier the better... Nice 25hp motor (easy to put on, take off, lift by self, and lock in truck @ night), that's the heart and soul. Anyway... That's the GCICWw, Gulf Coast InterCoastal Waterway, this will put a crimp on shipping that will be felt all the up here... Lot of petrol-chem slides back and forth. Brazos River... Is supposed to reach almost 60'... Put a lot of stress on downstream infrastructure. They use sector gates like we do up here. What's happening down there is like Lake Michigan spilling over into Chicago and now where to send it! http://www.swg.usace.army.mil/Business-With-Us/Operations-Division/Brazos-River-Floodgates-Summary/ 7mph and all shipping stops. There will some damage and economic impact felt. Edited August 28, 2017 by ExiledInIllinois
Augie Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 If I had a plane, I'd drop pallets of water on their heads. Maybe throw in some turkeys? They'll be hungry too. "As God is my witness...."

Augie Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 that was WKRP right? Yep, hysterical! Someone posted a clip here not too long ago. I'm laughing out loud just THINKING about it!
ExiledInIllinois Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Yep, hysterical! Someone posted a clip here not too long ago. I'm laughing out loud just THINKING about it! Same here... Sorry for the temporary diversion: "Oh the humanity!"
Jauronimo Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 just heard this advice from a rescuer interviewed on TWC 'start making sandwiches' That wasn't advice, that guy is just really sexist and threatened by his co-anchor.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is dealing with this right now CBF
DC Tom Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 you're a jerk. And obviously not that bright. Don't drop water, it'd be dangerous. Drop cups, there is already enough water! Cups? This is Houston, not Ron Artest...
Jauronimo Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Cups? This is Houston, not Ron Artest... We are running dangerously low on codeine here. If we don't get supplies soon its going to be lavender drank by Tuesday morning.

Maybe they could get some scuba gear on and go search for the myriad of prescription pill containers that must have floated away?
Big Turk Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 How bad is it in Southeastern Texas? Here is what the National Weather Service has to say about what to expect: They don't know what to expect because nothing like this has ever occurred in the history of the US...enough said. NWS This event is unprecedented & all impacts are unknown & beyond anything experienced. Follow orders from officials to ensure safety. #Harvey
boyst Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Joel Osteens church isn't open for shelter. Bwahahahaha
Just Jack Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Joel Osteens church isn't open for shelter. Bwahahahaha Mixed reports on that. Some say streets getting to it are flooded, others say local shelters can do more than sticking people in there. Maybe Katrina showed them that using a (former) sports arena is not the way to go.

The neighborhood where Osteen's church is located is in no danger of flooding. Edited August 29, 2017 by Jauronimo
