Well, the brave, idealistic folks have taken the 'cartoon' down....................

Americans pointed out that it was terrible on just about every level.

When the going gets tough, some pitch in. And some, like @wuerker, choose to make fun of a state and a religion while he sits on his ass.

Hurricane Harvey could be the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history, according to USA Today.

It has a potential price tag of $160 billion, a report from AccuWeather says.

This is more than the combined cost of Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy.

AccuWeather president Joel Myers says that parts of Houston will be “uninhabitable for weeks and possibly months due to water damage, mold, disease ridden water, and all that will follow this 1000 year flood.”

And it will be immigrants doing a lot of the work rebuilding. Will they be harassed, jailed and deported too?

Real test of leadership here for Congress and Trump

Well I saw tweets that a Best Buy in Houston was selling cases of water for $42 and another store, which wasn't a chain, was selling cases for $99. Best Buy claimed that it was just some rogue employees that totaled up the individual price of one bottle and multiplied it by the number in the case or some other nonsense like that.

I also believe that the Mayor of Houston installed a curfew last night or the night before specifically to stop looters from plying their trade overnight at empty houses and apartments.

he was talking a out looting

What a crowd! What a turnout!

a thousand show up to see how aid will come and we get a LAMP speech

why does the media hold the president to having a speech in the first place. Shut up and help

Thank you so much for your donation. We plan to put it to excellent use.

You Dems really need to just lay low for a while. We appreciate your ability to take every situation and make it worse with your embarrassing partisan comments -- and you'll have plenty of time to continue the embarrassments in due time-- but can you at least wait until we're done watching images of old people being rescued on jet skis before you whine about superficial crap like this and stiletto heels?

This fixing of Houston is all on the Republicans. It's going to cost a lot of money and Trump is running around talking about tax cuts for corporations.

I wonder if Texas can turn blue?

You might need to do a bit of work on the subject of "tax cuts for corporations."

I'm not a Democrat. FWIW I get a kick pout of seeing idiots, some probably good Republicans, saying Obama was out golfing for Katrina.

The campaign is over. Why does Dumb Donny still need to play to the crowd on how great he is.

To quote Boyst

Shut up and help

When Donny can actually get something accomplished in DC we can discuss it. Until then all we have is a clown show.

Re: the lefty Political 'cartoon'

Via Aaron Blake (at WaPo) who identifies 4 problems:

1. The "crassness" of making fun of people who are suffering.

2. The stark and negative stereotypes. (The "dismissive" attitude toward Christianity especially bothers Blake.)

3. The assumption that because it's Texas, people are conservative, when, in fact, Houston skews strongly Democratic.

4. The idea that "people who believe in smaller government and lower taxes believe everything should be privatized and that the government shouldn't be counted on to do anything."

(this is a favorite of simpletons like Gator and Baskin)

Wonder if it will impact the wall funding.

Kevin Hart and The Rock had some campaign going where celebrities would donate vast sums to relief

Trump should try launching a similar campaign to encourage politicians to donate money not from the public till but from their own pockets. Maybe Hiliary can donate some of the proceeds of her upcoming book tour to Harvey relief. Obama can channel some of his $400k speaking fees to bottle up the water upon which he walks. Pelosi should be able to spare some cash from her husband's minimum wage exempt business interests
