The Trump directive: "Never waste an opportunity to create a serious crisis".

He did a pretty good job with Houston and Florida so that statement is ridiculous. Seems to me Trump just fell for the Democrat's trap of "Trump doesn't care about minorities" with his tweet storm today personally attacking the mayor of San Juan. They know they can bate him because of who he is. The cynical side of me says the reason the Democrat's are focusing so much on Puerto Rico is many of the refugees will become Florida voters who hate Trump.

Oddly enough, the places that are part of the contiguous US got help in an expedient manner. The one that isn't, shockingly , isn't getting help in an apparent expedient manner.

Democrats are hammering that, because that is where they MAY score political points.

"The mayor's living on a cot, and I hope the President has a good day at golf," said Honoré, who led the military response in 2005 to Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

Retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré drew a stark distinction Saturday when asked about President Donald Trump's tweets accusing San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz of "poor leadership" in her response to the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

Cruz also said she and her family are staying at the Coliseum in San Juan, along with more than 600 people. They're sleeping on cots and eating the same food as everyone else after their house flooded.

Neighboring mayor praises Trump, says San Juan mayor playing 'politic's AWOL at meetings

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/neighboring-mayor-praises-trump-says-san-juan-mayor-playing-politics-awol-at-meetings/article/2636185

The mayor of a Puerto Rican city that sits next to San Juan praised the administration's help Saturday night, and chided the "politics" of San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, who has been criticizing President Trump.

In an interview, Guaynabo Mayor Angel Perez Otero said that in several meetings with FEMA and U.S. military officials about the recovery effort, Yulin Cruz has been absent. "I've seen other mayors participating. She's not," said Perez Otero.

As I wrote before, Trump's recent tweet certainly showed his asinine, childish side................

and still does, but PLEASE ....

keep posting that he is ignoring.................or that he disrespected Puerto Rico................keep pushing the Katrina narrative................

When the truth is, he is being a jackass with the San Juan mayor.

Time for a little history lesson for some folks.

Makes it sound like they took Antwerp overnight, swept for mines, and everything was good. In fact, because Field Marshall Montgomery was a !@#$ing moron, they took the city...but didn't bother clearing the Scheldt Estuary, so it took another two months before the port could even be swept.

Noumea during the Battle of Guadalcanal is a better example of how deleterious it is to any logistical effort to try to push too many supplies through a too-small port too quickly.

The first responders and FEMA have all been outstanding in this crisis, and should be supported.

Doesn’t fit the narrative.

Was flipping channels Saturday and saw Geraldo in PR and he was showcasing this exact issue. The place was a mess before the storm. Sadly it will get fixed and the same incompetents will be in charge.

FEMA OFFICIAL: San Juan Mayor ‘Not Participating Substantially’ With Any Efforts of FEMA Field Office.

Who’s got time for that when the cameras are rolling and there’s a false narrative to peddle?

Tesla is Shipping Hundreds of Powerwall Batteries to Puerto Rico.

In a continued streak of goodwill during this year’s devastating hurricane season, Tesla has been shipping hundreds of its Powerwall batteries to Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Since the hurricane hit on 20 September, much of the U.S. territory has been left without power — about 97 percent, as of 27 September — hampering residents’ access to drinkable water, perishable food, and air conditioning. The island’s hospitals are struggling to keep generators running as diesel fuel dwindles.

Installed by employees in Puerto Rico, Tesla’s batteries could be paired with solar panels in order to store electricity for the territory, whose energy grid may need up to six months to be fully repaired. Several power banks have already arrived to the island, and more are en route.

Mos def. It's from the BBC and little more than propaganda, used at the time to keep the home folk "informed" as to the progress - or lack thereof. Monty was an ass, a UGE ass.

Just wanted to give a wee small clue as to the importance of logistics and transportation in the distribution channel. When it's !@#$ed, it's !@#$ed.

But I couldn't find anything on Noumea other than this - which was shot through rose colored lenses and isn't much better. With newsreels like this, it's a wonder we didn't win the war in 1942.

I had no idea it was that bad. That CEO OF ENGINEERING FIRM should be the Governor there, at least listen to him.

When you have to correct your fake news...this correction today from Politico.

How many lies can you tell before it's better to just kill the article?

Did they get anything right in the article? Are they sure they're not talking about American Samoa, and that they're not The Onion?
