Bills Today: Zay accepting bigger role in offense

bills-today-8-24-story.jpg

Zay Jones looked like he was going to be brought along steadily in Buffalo's offense, but with the trade of Sammy Watkins and the sudden retirement of Anquan Boldin, Jones' role is expected to be larger.

@MatthewFairburn

Sean McDermott said Jordan Mills has an illness. Kevon Seymour day to day with shoulder. Tanner Vallejo had his knee scoped (week-to-week).

@SalSports

Jordan Mills is sick and Kevon Seymour has a shoulder injury is day-to-day. Marcell Dareus has a "hip issue" and is day to day.

@JonScottTV

Cordy Glenn and Jordan Matthews are making the trip to Baltimore, but Sean McDermott doesn't expect them to play. May warm-up. #Bills

@ChrisBrownBills

McDermott: Dawkins to start at left tackle Saturday vs Ravens. #Bills

@JaySkurski

#Bills who won't play Saturday: Colt Anderson (foot), Jeremy Butler (concussion), Rod Streater (toe), Tanner Vallejo (knee).

McDermott: "We're going to look at a lot of guys at the receiver position Saturday night." #Bills

@JoeBuscaglia

#Bills HC Sean McDermott on Ragland: With an injury like his, you start from a position of deficit unfortunately. Done a good job off field

#Bills HC Sean McDermott on Reggie Ragland: 'His best football is in front of him'

@ChrisBrownBills

McDermott: Matthews has made tremendous progress in last week. Staying after w/QBs. #Bills

@JoeBuscaglia

#Bills HC Sean McDermott says Nathan Peterman will still be the 2nd quarterback for the Bills against the Ravens.

@JaySkurski

The starters will play "one or two" series into the second half, McDermott says. That includes RB LeSean McCoy. #Bills

@JaySkurski

Vlad Ducasse will start at right guard in place of John Miller this week, Sean McDermott says. #Bills

Thanks 26. After reading Frazier's comments yesterday and McD's today, I don't think Ragland is going anywhere unless somebody offers at least a 3rd. They all sound committed to letting him recover fully from the knee injury before making a final evaluation.

That would be a good decision IMO with Brown possibly headed to UFA at season's end and Hodges on a 1-year deal.

@JoeBuscaglia

#Bills HC Sean McDermott on WR Jordan Matthews: At this point, Jordan probably isn't going to play this week.

@SalSports

McDermott asked "Is the team in any position at all to trade LeSean McCoy?" Answer: "No."

Make Ducasse that someone.

Sorry, I have kids and he's way bigger than me. I'm tough but not stupid.

Leonard Williams will eat him alive.

Leonard Smith--at this point in life--would eat him alive :lol:

It's incredible.

These guys are making SEVERAL head scratching moves in evaluating talent here.

Like awful evaluating of talent. Miller is without question better then Vlad. What the !@#$ is McEgo seeing here?

Same with Watkins, same with MG, same with Darby... asinine.

I consider the Decausse/Miller thing to be completely different scenario's then those others you brought up

the OG thing I am hoping is just getting a final evluation on Ducassee that he sucks and needs to be cut

Ducasse is definitely head scratching.

Darby didn't play well in zone. Mark Kelso broke down film and said that our secondary last year was bad in zone. We are now a zone team.

MG is a back up RB. Jonathan Williams will be able to step up in a back up role and fill in very well.
