NoSaint Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Unless there is big guaranteed bases or roster bonuses ala Dareus. This is a very tradable contract and a pay as you go WR. Would be an upgrade to Holmes Honestly, dareus is an easy contract to assume, just impossible for us to deal still
harmonkillebrew Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 can't you do trades with a player agreement to restructure?
MAJBobby Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 can't you do trades with a player agreement to restructure? Why would you do anything with this contract. That would mean more guaranteed money which it doesnt have any of after this year
C.Biscuit97 Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Maybe we can get every wr in the NFL to make Tyrod look like a competent passer. Or maybe we could have kept a 24 yo stud wr that we had for very cheap.
NoSaint Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Why would you do anything with this contract. That would mean more guaranteed money which it doesnt have any of after this year Only if you wanted to create space short term but that seems the opposite of the plan currently
The Jokeman Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-jaguars-wr-allen-hurns-potentially-on-trading-block Yes, please! No, thanks with the contract hes got prior to last year is way overpriced. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/jacksonville-jaguars/allen-hurns-14929/ Edited August 24, 2017 by The Jokeman

Bleeding Bills Blue Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) Unless there is big guaranteed bases or roster bonuses ala Dareus. This is a very tradable contract and a pay as you go WR. Would be an upgrade to Holmes The Jags are basically trying to get something for him before they cut him. With the out to avoid the 4 mil of guaranteed money, they'd cut him before the next league year to avoid the rest of the deal. Why would you do anything with this contract. That would mean more guaranteed money which it doesnt have any of after this year I assume he means a paycut? But he's already fully guaranteed 7 mil of base salary this year - you can't take that away from him. So what incentive does he have to restructure/take a paycut? Edited August 24, 2017 by dneveu
ALF Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I really like the WRs we have now. Cut down will be difficult , PS could be picked up by needy teams. Until the Bills have a franchise QB , no need to over spend yet.
3rdand12 Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Maybe we can get every wr in the NFL to make Tyrod look like a competent passer. Or maybe we could have kept a 24 yo stud wr that we had for very cheap. you are still battered and bruised. so many are. maybe the new regime just felt he was no longer an asset and would be gone long term anyways. Perhaps Sammy did as well and both agreed to shake hands and move on? perhaps we should as well? Bills would do well to keep close tabs on the waivered wire. Like to see Shorts make the Team on his play though
Paul Costa Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Will he be cheaper if we wait for him to be released?
MAJBobby Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Will he be cheaper if we wait for him to be released? Probably. But you also dont get him in your system for a couple weeks of practice. Instead you get him right before the 1st game so September he likely is slow to get up to speed learning the new offense. Thag is why you would make the trade now to get him a couple weeks of practice before the 1st game
KellyToughII Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Ehh...if we are going to do that might as well have just paid Sammy...would you trade Hurns for Sammy?? Hell no... Yes. But that is beside the point. 10 mill per year? Sammy would tell the Bills, and the rams, to pound sand. He plans on getting paid
QuoteTheRaven83 Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 I think the team just proved they don't want to invest that kind of cash in the WR position. Not really. The team JUST proved they don't want to invest that kind of cash in a WR that can't play a full season.
