I think you could milk a second, or two thirds, or a third and a player.

we need proven, young PLAYERS not picks.

Team Rebuild? Do yo know what the odds are of hitting on a player in the draft? If you did, then you would realize that all those picks are more than likely to amount to a few solid starters at best. You hope to hit big and get a Pro Bowler or two, but thats NOT easy because predicting the future is impossible.

The odds of a player being a Pro Bowl player from the first round is WELL BELOW 50%. The odds of a 2nd round player being a Pro Bowler, significantly lower than that. 3rd round even worse...you see a pattern here? But all of a sudden everyone thinks we can replace one of the best DT's, best RB's, get a franchise QB, replace an Elite WR, replace a talented DB who was only 23, and STILL also FILL all the other holes we had before we started trading all our players away in one stupid draft because we got a few more low percentage chances to draft a few more prospects????

How is it no one understands how unbelievably unreasonable and unlikely to accomplish even part of that is?

and, oh by the way, when we DO draft solid players, we force them out after two years.

Probably depends on how desperate they are. If it's a contender and their starting RB goes down, they might give up a high pick

I'm thinking the same thing. What if the Steelers lost Bell? In that scenario I could see they trading a 2nd or 1st for Shady. Their window is closing.

and it wasn't from a Former BBMBer !!!!!

well, not that I recall

I know the BBMB was bad at times but you all are no different, just less of you. I was just in a thread that suggested trading Tyrod Taylor and a 1st for Watkins (not a BBMB member either).

The entire thread you refer to is sarcasm.

That's why he's more tradeable! Seriously, the dead cap # is irrelevant - the Bills will remain under the cap and don't have to pay any actual money. It's a fictitious number.

The dead cap $$ is irrelevant to this team for sure. They don't have anyone to pay , esp post Watkins trade.

You don't think so? For arguably the best RB in the league?

o.O

Think about it. The Bills only managed to get 2nd round pick for Sammy Watkins, who is 23 years old, a premier talent at a premier position, and is still on his rookie contract. McCoy is a 29-year old running back (a seriously de-valued position), has had a series of nagging injuries, is weak in pass protection (as we saw against the Eagles last Thursday) and has a fat contract. McCoy is also small, whereas the trend is toward bigger, more punishing backs who can make a team pay for putting five or six DBs on the field to stop the pass. Again, not to say McCoy's not a good player; he is. He just has very little trade value at this point in his career. But hey, Indy gave up a first for Trent Richardson a few years ago, so anything's possible.

It always depends on how desperate they are.

How disturbing would it be if they did tank the season and then drafted a cornerback with their first pick. Doh!

You forgot the part about using their first round and 2nd round picks to move up for said cornerback ... or kicker.
