Saxum Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 http://variety.com/2017/film/news/jerry-lewis-dies-dead-nutty-professor-1202533899 Jerry Lewis, the brash slapstick comic who teamed with Dean Martin in the 1950s and later starred in “The Nutty Professor” and “The Bellboy” before launching the Muscular Dystrophy telethon, has died in Las Vegas. He was 91. Used to love him as a kid.

bbb Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I really couldn't stand him, but he did do a lot of good work for MD
Rico Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Hehehe....i heard about that on Stern. Special one-time Fandango event with all the proceeds going to MD.
Augie Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I really couldn't stand him, but he did do a lot of good work for MD I have to admit I didn't enejoy his brand of humor, but had a lot of respect for all the good things he did. RIP.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I have to admit I didn't enejoy his brand of humor, but had a lot of respect for all the good things he did. RIP. At the time some of his schit was funny. RIP Jerry.
row_33 Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Hehehe....i heard about that on Stern. Harry Shearer got a full view of the film with Jerry, I think that was the interview on Stern? He engineered the greatest flop of a TV show in history.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jerry_Lewis_Show
eball Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Never got his brand of humor, and he was a pretty despicable misogynist as well. Glad his telethon raised a lot of money for MDA, but otherwise, meh.
\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 If you have the time, here are 2 1/2 hours of uncensored and unfiltered interviews with him: http://www.emmytvlegends.org/interviews/people/jerry-lewis Under the video, click "interview" and you can pick the segment that you want to listen to.
row_33 Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Never got his brand of humor, and he was a pretty despicable misogynist as well. Glad his telethon raised a lot of money for MDA, but otherwise, meh. Classic stuff, he lost his mind and thought he was a French Cinematic Auteur, lecturing us on how he will revolutionize art, bringing out the reviews that trashed Dean to puff himself up. I see it as something that wasn't going to translate to my age group coming along later, just like Bob Hope. Lewis tells Dean about the love that glued their teamwork, and Martin fires back point-blank: “You can talk about love all you want. To me, you’re nothing but a !@#$ing dollar sign.” Dean I fully understood....
\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Intentionally leaves his kids out of his will: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/jerry-lewis-left-6-sons-marriage-report-article-1.3511415
row_33 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Marc Maron replayed his interview when Jerry cut him off. But Maron's questions were useless (same with Alec Baldwin's podcast) where you ask questions that show zero research and say "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah" to every word of the guest. So you and Dean Martin had a comedy team for a few years? Yes.... (yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah) And it didn't work out? Uh-huh (yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah) [Jerry then stops it as its a total waste of time]
