Over 29 years of fanhood Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 For all the griping we do Hughes is an offenses nightmare. We notice the offsides and the after the whistle stuff. But when he gets hot, you start seeing false starts as well. Big Fan of Hughes and our D line as a Whole. Whaley and staff did some good things we should admit. Nice Pro scouting for sure He's got like a slightly calmer and uncoked up LT kind of angry. I like it.
Bill_with_it Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Was he responsible for Hughes-Sheppard? No that was done on Nix's watch.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 No that was done on Nix's watch. Yes two weeks before he officially stepped down, but as I recall Whaley was given the credit for the deal and given Nix was 14 calendar days from a planned transition, I believe it. But anyway, the point of the thread here is, Shady was just such a nice add. Stud.

BisonMan Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 What's more amazing about these stats is that Shady turns more poor line play into positive yards than any back I've seen. Of course, he also turns 1-2 yard gainers into TFLs by trying to turn nothing into something. Watching the linked video shows me how good the Bills' blocking has been as a lot of those runs he goes untouched. Kudos to the line play and the receivers blocking down field. With Bob and Sam gone, I wonder how many downfield blocks Shady will get this year. Does Zay Jones scare anybody with his blocking ability? Boldin? Matthews? EdW
