chaccof Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 As the the 10th anniversary of Kevin Everett's injury is coming up on Sept. 9th does anyone know if the Bills plan to do anything to commemorate it? I just picked up the book that was written about his recovery - at a garage sale for a buck - pretty interesting story. It was written by a writer from Philly which surprised me a bit.
Curt Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I see your point but I don't think that the Bills will commemorate a near fatal injury.
Roundybout Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 It sounds harsh but I don't think he was famous enough to warrent this. Its a nice story, but he is no Darryl Talley.
DDD Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Someone from the Buffalo News did a piece on him a few years ago otherwise he's been aloof.
mikemac2001 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I see your point but I don't think that the Bills will commemorate a near fatal injury. Maybe his story since
Overseas Bills Fan Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I don't see it. I'd say let the man live privately. Remember, he almost died.
bbb Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Since this thread isn't really about Kevin's health these days, I can't not post my favorite TV goof:
Captain_Quint Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Since this thread isn't really about Kevin's health these days, I can't not post my favorite TV goof: One of my all time favorites.
Watching since 1964 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Never seen that clip before...outstanding!
Cripple Creek Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I see your point but I don't think that the Bills will commemorate a near fatal injury. I think you're right, it will get a mention, but that's about it. IF they did they would celebrate the quick response, treatment and recovery, not the injury.
YoloinOhio Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 "Lead the charge" maybe for the home opener? Wait... will they even still do that?
Captain_Quint Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 "Lead the charge" maybe for the home opener? Wait... will they even still do that? Yes, but like the captains, it will be the same guy all year. This year is Elvis, next year its the chefs.
Beast Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 If anything, honor the medical staff. That would be a good idea.
chaccof Posted August 19, 2017 Author Posted August 19, 2017 I think you're right, it will get a mention, but that's about it. IF they did they would celebrate the quick response, treatment and recovery, not the injury. that's what i was thinking, celebrate the recovery.
dezertbill Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 It was a horrific injury that quick thinking limited the damage to his spine. I remember reading he's now into business and walking Based on his recover I definitely feel the Bills should do something to commemorate the day to celebrate his recovery 10 years later.
Wayne Arnold Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Since this thread isn't really about Kevin's health these days, I can't not post my favorite TV goof: This doesn't get enough credit for the absolute unintentional hilarity of it.
Heavy Kevi Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 This doesn't get enough credit for the absolute unintentional hilarity of it. Especially since most people (myself included) would not recognize KE in street clothes.
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 If anything, honor the medical staff. That would be a good idea. ....nice idea Beast....and if Kevin wanted to attend, I'm sure Pegula would fly him in....leave it as his option......or he could prerecord a thank you video message and play it on the jumbotron............
LABILLBACKER Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 "Lead the charge" maybe for the home opener? Wait... will they even still do that? Not a terrible idea to invite him to home opener. Celebrate his life (not near death). Invite the doctors and field personnel who saved his life. He doesn't need to be a marquee player. He was a Bill!
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 (edited) This doesn't get enough credit for the absolute unintentional hilarity of it. I've never seen it. Finding it hard to believe it was unintentional though. Edited August 20, 2017 by DriveFor1Outta5
