re enlightener Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 If he doesn't fit the scheme, the Bills need to trade him now. Maybe they can get a player from another team that is underachieving in the wrong system. Maybe they can get lucky and land another mid-round pick. I'm coming to grips that 2017 is a total lost cause. At one point, I was holding out slim hope for a wild card. But after trading away Sammy Watkins and watching Tyrod Taylor struggle to adapt in the new scheme, I realize this team is (or will soon be) in full rebuild mode. Every snap/roster spot used on someone like Reggie Ragland is a waste, because it could be used on a player who fits better. "trade him now" lol, learn patience, one game doesnt matter especially preseason. we need something, known as depth. obviously youre under 30.
4merper4mer Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 He doesn't have any special talents. He's a two down run stuffer who has limited range and struggles against the run. We need to trade him ASAP. Yes because every team is chomping at the bit for a player like that.
timekills17 Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Seems like our 2017 version of Brandon Spikes. Tough against the run and a sure tackler that is limited in mid range pass defense. Red zone or short yardage use right now for depth. Once he gets another year in rehab and some faith in the knee (it takes time for you to believe you can use it fully) and then we'll see if he has the agility and speed we want. oldmanfan Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Yes coming back from the ACL, but also learning a new scheme that he MAY not be a great fit for. Ragland's not getting released this season, man. There is too much value there.hope so but at this point he's a third string LB so his spot is in jeopardy
hemma Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 In this case, I think people are too impatient. May be mid-year, but I think he'll contribute this year and keep getting better.
ALF Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 The Bills won't be making a playoff run so don't use injured players till 100%. Give Ragland's ACL plenty of time to recover.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 @TBNSports Switch to the 4-3 under McDermott has left many wondering whether Ragland can fit his game into a different scheme http://buffalonews.com/2017/08/22/bills-lb-reggie-ragland-tunes-trade-rumors-saying-im-im-supposed-right-now/
NewEraBills Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 How has he looked? I'm not saying this as a criticism as I understand the circumstances, but honestly, stiff and lost.

MAJBobby Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Trade him to Colts for Dorsett or Trade him to Jax for Hurns

K D Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Bills should play Ragland as much as possible this week to show what he can do then from there decide
Magox Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Yes, if they indeed are shopping Ragland, the fact that they moved him to the third team and playing towards the end of the game I would imagine lessens his trade value. You would think they'd want to showcase him. Now if they do plan on keeping him and are just playing it safe and have evaluated that they should bring him up more slowly until he fully heals then that would seem to make more sense.
Jasovon Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I wanted Reggie in the first last year and was so stoked when we got him in the second. Yet another example of why I watch football from the sofa.
dezertbill Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Ragland will be gone by week 1. No ways the Bills keep him. The only reason they haven't pulled the trigger yet is cuz they are holding out for the deal they want. Probably end up being a conditional 4th.
Commish Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Per Donald Jones, they'll keep him for special teams alone [unless he gets traded]
