I never thought talent and team building were mutually exclusive, especially assuming that everyone in the NFL is talented. Its the highest level of football. I was hopeful that this new regime would put the fan base first and build around the talent on this team. With a decent defense, this team would have competed for the playoffs, assuming we kept Sammy. After last night I see we have major problems on the offensive side of the ball. In particular O-line and Wide receivers. Once again Ego and Pride is place above the fans. Does these guys believe they will be around long enough to develop any draft picks, if they are not winning in 2-3 years?

Can we just drop the nonsense about ego, blah, blah, blah? You have a HC and GM that, yes, are building a team. The preseason is telling them where they have issues and where they need to focus on that building. It has nothing to do with ego etc. and they should be here for more than2-3 years. The problem this team has had for years is there has been no continuity in terms of establishing an actual team and philosophy of play that can be sustained.

McDermott's Offensive Approach = Jauron's

Run the ball on first and second, get into 3rd and short, short passes, kick field goals. Keep it safe, punting is not a bad thing.

McDermott talked run first because of the Buffalo weather and so has Dennison.

The continuity problem is on the players side. We let all the talented players walk or trade them. Coaches don't play, players do. That's why good coaches maximizes the talent on the rosters and adjust accordingly. How many coaches we have to go through to learn this lesson. You win with proven talent in the NFL. The bills kept doing the opposite.

Preseason game 2. Say it with me...Preseason...Game...2..

its all setting up well. the players are already checking out, 3-13 or 4-12 is highly likely, go get Darnold and 5 other top 3 round picks and build a team for the next 4-5 years. This year will be painful, but not any moreso than any of the last few. Without a top 10 QB, you're not going anywhere in the NQL (National Quarterback League). So just do something else on Sundays for a season. it will all get better.

It's far more simple to build a tea. All you need is a table and chairs, and a pot and cups and saucers. Some nice finger sandwiches would go well too.

Cheers!

We let all the talented players leave? Where is McCoy? Hughes? Clay? Glenn? Dareus? Kyle? Are they on different teams?

Enough already.

Building a tee-pee is another challenge altogether

McDermott did call for a punt inside the opponent's 40 yard line. Very Dick Jauron-ish.

All I know is that Pegula isn't going to like it if McDermott and Beane take a decent team that Rex began screwing up and turn that team into a giant dumpster fire in one season.

Not saying Pegula would do anything about it in year one obviously, but it helps burns through the bank account of good will that the new coach and GM got when hired. They claim that they are trying to win while building a team. Um....better be able to win some. The team that showed up last night wouldn't win any.

I always get frustrated 2ith the 2 or 3 days after a game when platitudes and sound bites overtake the board

Preseason is brutal. We don't know this teamat all and we are purely speculating

It was far worse during the actual game last night.

Then why do visiting teams have no problems throwing the ball in Buffalo?

You are all going to regret trashing Whaley at every opportunity. From the admittedly small evidence so far, he had a much better eye for talent than Beane and McDermott.

This team did not need a rookie Head coach and GM. If you were going to fire Whaley, should have done it last year or the year before and bring in an experience front office person to run the team, especially with New Owners with no clue about running a NFL franchise.

Sammy would not have 'won" either of these PRE SEASON games for the Bills. Jones looked good...but, I am now concerned about losing Streater.and am anxiously awaiting Matthews. Bills have a number of problems: Offensive production in general, O-line (especially LT and Ducasse) and penalties, etc.

the answer to the oline is simple. Once Glen return, put him on the right side and let Dawkins play left tackle. We all know Glen isn't getting another contract with the bills.. Dawkins has played left tackle in college and through OTA'S. With Glen hurt and Henderson suspension at the beginning of the season, Dawkins is being asted at right tackle. If fully healthy starting o-line should be; GLENN, MILLER, GROY, INCOGNITO, DAWKINS. I left WOOD out, because he is not going to get another contract from the bills after this year. If they did not want to pay Sammy, can't justify paying WOOD.

10-15 years ago, a few friends and I went to Niagara on the lake twice a year as a tradition. There was a bed and breakfast which doubled as a restaurant, they had good indian food but they also had a great afternoon tea, which the girls in the group enjoyed. Unfortunately they redid their format and did away with that.

If Buffalo could build a tea like that, than it may make the rebuilding year better for some.
