DrDawkinstein Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Scrolled through and surprised to not find any discussion on this kid yet. He played a TON in the first preseason game. I can't say how he did because it was tough to follow from where I was, but I noticed he played most of the first half. Very surprised at how much time he got on the field, especially compared to Ragland. Then today, I find him in this ESPN article where they built "The Perfect NFL Roster" within the salary cap. Now sure, he was just thrown in as a cheap backup, but again, his name is popping up. When he was drafted, I thought he'd be nothing more than camp fodder. But with recent events, and it seeming like McBeane want "their guys" in there, maybe it's time we pay him a little more attention. Thoughts? Anyone watch him much in college? Will he still be a goner/practice squad guy?

Will he still be a goner/practice squad guy? i went to bc, so it's the college team i watch the most. he was a great college defender (i think he was the team mvp on defense), but he was a guy that struck me as never going to be big time in the pros. i don't know the best way to articulate that other than the dreaded "eye test" but as productive as he was, he struck me as a bit slow and small. my understanding was that he wasn't having a great camp. running with the 3s. i think he may be cut unless there's value with special teams. DrDawkinstein Posted August 16, 2017 Author Posted August 16, 2017 Never draft a LB named for a cookie. I was thinking more along these lines...
Formerly Allan in MD Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Draft picks should never be used on camp fodder. That's what UDFAs are all about.

EmotionallyUnstable Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 (edited) We are so thin at LB I think he is almost certainly on the roster. To what extent he plays a role this season remains to be seen. From what I saw, he looked bigger than I expected him to based off of his measurements. Other than that, I had no thoughts on his play, nor did I notice anything about it positive or negative Edited August 16, 2017 by EmotionallyUnstable
Jamie Nails Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 probably makes the 53 for special teams When Ragland gets cut...zing!
K D Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 If you read that article, check the RB section. If this isn't Shady's last year here then definitely next year. You can get good RB's for cheap
BringBackFergy Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 I've liked Milano as well. Watched him at the Training Camp I went to. He had a nice INT and was always around the ball. No question he has a fire in his belly to play. Hope to see him on the 53.
RyanC883 Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 I think the guy is going to surprise people. First, I've read a lot about him having a great camp, and possibly being the "suprise" rookie for the Bills. He has great football IQ and is always in position. Also, if he was the MVP of Boston College's D, he got ALL the attention of the offense. Here, that attention will have to be given to Marcell, Shaq, etc.

Maddog69 Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Due to his smallish size, I was expecting him to be moved to Safety

The only reason why you replied to this thread is because you wanted to let everyone know you went to BC.

C.Biscuit97 Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 He easily could be the next Jon Corto or Josh Stamer. Honestly, I didn't really know him as a college player and haven't heard anything about him in preseason. He will need to prove himself on STs and the league does have a place for smaller LBs. But he better be good at covering kicks first.
Royale with Cheese Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 And look what good it did him. You know what they call a doctor who dropped out of medical school? A dentist.
