Ralonzo Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Anyone have any resources on who might be likely June cap casualties around the league at positions of need? Maybe there's something brewing on that front that we haven't figured out.

Maybe there's something brewing on that front that we haven't figured out. 260565 The problem with the June1st casualities are, those veterans want to go to teams that are closer to winning the SB (like a NE, Phi, or Indy) and play for a cap-friendly contract in the hopes of getting a championship. We will probably be a playoff-bound team next year, but not close to a championship team yet, so the June 1st cuts are unlikely to come here unless they are offered a big salary (like a Milloy). I don't see TD overpaying for anyonne anymore.

Guess patience is not a vice I have been blessed with.

Guess patience is not a vice I have been blessed with. 260764 -No argument that JP is unproven, but I don't think he'll hurt us too much. -Jonas Jennings was outperformed by his backup last season while he was hurt... again. -Pat's 33, a super run stopper, a waste of time on the pass rush. He can be replaced. -I think they're being patient, so I'd say,"no new addittions YET." -I've always been of the (sometimes unpoplular) opinion that TD has had some reaaly good drafts, so I'm feeling like we'll get some players there. And lastly, if you're calling patience a "vice" and not a "virtue," I'd agree with you that you weren't blessed with very much of it!!!

And I meant that sentence exactly as it read. My patience is spotty - in some cases, I can be cool for extended periods of time and in others, I can't wait for more than a fraction of a second.

Guess patience is not a vice I have been blessed with. 260764 I said "probably a playoff-bound team". The reasoning is we have a good Defense and #1 ST. If the offense plays within its limits we definitely can win the # of games to make the playoffs... Remember most of our wins last year was despite having a Bledsoe. Even in those wins, bledsoe threw costly interceptions, but our D and ST kept us in those games. So having JP replace him at the worst will have the same effect. It is 2 days into the FA and you already talk as if all is lost. Yes we did lose our starting LT and DT. DT I am not concered as we do have players developing behind him the last few years. You have to let your young players play to see what they can do (that is what the Pats have successfully done, they did not panic when a Milloy was cut, they plugged in a rookie and he did well). JJ is a harder loss, but the team has to move on. If you wallow in your pain, no one is going to help you. The Steelers lost 9 starters last year to injury but their backups plugged in to take the team to their best regular season ever.
