Because they live in a video game world where they think goofy trades that make sense can be completed just because they make sense. Forgetting you must convince the other team to agree to said trade. In Madden there is only the "here and now" and the players talent comparison. Players perform the same all year regardless of where they play. In the real world teams have baggage and hopes and plans and capital they pd for the player they are trading, salaries, age, talent dropoff over course of yr on older players, contract situations, injuries, sentimental ties to players, personal ties to players, and new GM's/coaches/owners and diff owners all with multiple variying degrees of agenda. For ex: it is harder to deal with ego enhanced owner playing GM like J Jones compared to good GM with experience like most others. Hope that helps.
