Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 It's clear we are looking to the future, but maybe they brought Tyrod back so Kyle and Lorenzo would come back and Micah Hyde signs. Also to ensure season ticket sales are high and now that these are accomplished, are we truly gunning for the top pick?
Bangarang Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 (edited) Reasons? Because nobody wants him. Or maybe this team is committed to being mediocre Edited August 12, 2017 by Bangarang
Gunsgoodtime Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Reasons? No. Did you watch TJ Yates last night?
Watkins101 Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Do I think it will happen? No. Do I want it to happen? Yes.
JM2009 Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 He has negative trade value so, no. He's a low end starter and elite backup. The Bills didn't even draft him. negative value-no.
Magox Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 No, because I take McD's word for what it is. He seemed to get pretty ornery when he was asked if he was tanking the season. I believe the Watkins decision was what many of us thought it to be that he was an often-injured player that couldn't be relied on, that he was going to demand a contract much higher than what he has proven to be worth and that they wanted to get something in return for him now before they lose out getting any value out of him. Yes, it sucks to lose his playmaking ability and I was looking forward to seeing him play this year, but I understand the trade and it makes a lot of sense that they did what they did. So no, from my view they aren't tanking the season, they are going to go with the team they have now which is probably somewhere between a 4-8 win team and hope to really improve this team in 2018 with all those draft picks.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 12, 2017 Author Posted August 12, 2017 Because nobody wants him. Or maybe this team is committed to being mediocre After today's trades I can't imagine they are internally thinking we can be competitive. I hope they don't think these trades made us better today.
JM2009 Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 If they did trade him, then McCoy is gone too. So is the fanbase for the season. No reason to watch at all then.
Figster Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Do I think it will happen? No. Do I want it to happen? Yes. We can't lose with Tyrod, don't you get it?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 He has little value. If you want to trade someone who has some value, consider McCoy instead. Reasons?
Bangarang Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 After today's trades I can't imagine they are internally thinking we can be competitive. I hope they don't think these trades made us better today. Trade Shady then. He has better value and the run game collapsing ensures we tank, Tyrod or not. He's not going to carry this team to any kind of success.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 I also don't see them making us much worse either. Yes Sammy is a stronger WR when he plays, but that'sa big if of him making it through the entire season. Though players in contract years often surprisingly do. After today's trades I can't imagine they are internally thinking we can be competitive. I hope they don't think these trades made us better today.
LABILLBACKER Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Do I think it will happen? No. Do I want it to happen? Yes.
NoSaint Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 I'd be shocked if he took a pay cut to stay then we traded him in august.
LABILLBACKER Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 If you want Darnold, then go ahead and trade Tyrod Taylor and Dareus. If you're going to tank a season and start a rebuild then you might as well go balls-out.
