It'll be interesting to see how it pans out. Goff is is QB now. He's no Matt Ryan.

Formerly Allan in MD Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 You can't compare. Look at the quarterbacks throwing to each of them.
C.Biscuit97 Posted August 11, 2017 Author Posted August 11, 2017 You can't compare. Look at the quarterbacks throwing to each of them. Isn't that more of a positive for Sammy then?

Mathews: 46GP, 346 targets, 225catches, 2673, 11.9 ypc, 19 td. QBs Sanchez, Bradford, wentz Go Bills! Exactly... the data has spoken. Sammy is no Julio Jones. bigbuffs Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 If you are just going by the Stats Sammy looks pretty comparable to Julio. Throw in the fact that Julio has Matt Ryan throwing to him and Sammy had the Bills qb's and Sammy looks just as good if not better. Ouch
BringBackOrton Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Julio, more catches, yards, TD's playing in less games. Nailed it...
BuffaloBillsGospel Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Best gift you could have given him. It's a shame we wasted him here. I'm curious how did we "waste him here"? I remember him being often injured.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 we "wasted him here" because we started TT the last two years.
Bangarang Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 I'm curious how did we "waste him here"? I remember him being often injured. When he was on the field he was often ignored.
It's in My Blood Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 When he was on the field he was often ignored. "When he was on the field"....
Solomon Grundy Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 You're not gonna win this debate, C Biscuit
BuffaloBill Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Sammy in his time here has always been about what could be not what is. Only time will tell if the Bills made a smart move or not. As for me, I believe the Bills did the right thing - even if Sammy becomes a league leader.
Webster Guy Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Sammy is a force for sure, but the trade makes sense. Funny that he and Woods are both in L. A., two great ballers in a completely opposite environment than Buffalo. Sammy will get his long term deal now, before the season starts, and set himself up for life financially regardless of future injuries, so i'm sure he feels better in that sense. Sad to see such an elite talent go, but I hope he beats Julio and Antonio and OBJ in yards this year and shakes the injury bug.

BuffaloRebound Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Julio Jones is a physical beast and can still dominate when he's not 100%. I suspect Sammy will have a great year if he's healthy, but his game is totally built on speed and quickness. Much more dependent on physically being 100% which he rarely was.
r00tabaga Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Julio also had Roddy White taking targets early on. Sammy was a great receiver when healthy but never as physical as Julio.
T-Bomb Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Best gift you could have given him. It's a shame we wasted him here. WR's don't make QB's, you have it backwards...

Hmmmm...there are those pesky facts again. But people will still try and say he's not a top 10 talent. I will also add that his 16.1 YPC is 4th in the NFL since he entered the league. WR's don't make QB's, you have it backwards... Except thats not exactly true. Go ask Daunte Culpepper about that. Go ask Scott Mitchell about that. Go ask Rondey Peete about that. I can keep going through history and find marginal QB's who had a very talented top WR make those guys look really good. Hell go ask TSW long time fave Johnny Manziel about that. I mean he doesn't have close to the career in college if not for Mike Evans making the kid look good.
