bobobonators Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 (edited) I don't see a thread actually welcoming him aboard, so I figured I'd start one. Career 225 REC 2,673 YDS 11.9 AVG 78 LNG 19 TD Solid WR entering his prime. Only one year older than Sammy. Go BILLS? Edited August 11, 2017 by bobobonators
bobobonators Posted August 11, 2017 Author Posted August 11, 2017 Solid, but not the player SW is. True. But at least he plays? 95.83% of his games?
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I'm excited about Mathews. This trade was excellent for us ....the other one, not so much.! But welcome to the team. Wonder what # he will wear
NewEra Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I think he sucks. Oh well. 1 year rental and good bye
bobobonators Posted August 11, 2017 Author Posted August 11, 2017 Anyone think he will have better year than Sammy? It's certainly possible. It's not like Sammy has been putting up 1300/1400yd seasons. Goff is throwing him the ball. Maybe Oriovsky will be his QB..who knows.
Jamie Muellers Ghost Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 He'll fit right into that Robert Woods 5-yard out pattern.

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I like big body, possession WRs. Those are the guys who help move the chains and keep offenses on time. High pct passes are what I want. I have no issue with where we are at WR wise. I'm just not overly excited about our corner situation right now.

Sammy, very few will miss you ha. it's sad b/c from day one 99.9% of Bils fans were 200% in on Sammy. He was going to be our star...until he wasn't. He never appeared to really fit in with this franchise (obviously mostly b/c of injuries). "What if I told you...." 30for30 in 15yrs here we come! Edited August 11, 2017 by bobobonators

Maybe it was not really him but his agent like last time. Edited August 11, 2017 by Limeaid

Chilly Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 (edited) Jordan Matthews DVOA: 2016: -13.2% (Rank #75 in NFL) 2015: -1.8% (Rank #41 in NFL) 2014: 11.6% (Rank #23 in NFL) Yikes. Edited August 11, 2017 by Chilly
JohnBonhamRocks Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 The best ability... is availability. Pretend you don't know Watkins exists. Matthews, Jones, Boldin seems like a solid top 3 WRs for an NFL squad to me. Let's say we end up with this: Matthews: 890 yards & 6 TDs Jones: 500 yards & 3 TDs Boldin: 700 yards & 6 TDs Conservative estimates based on JM and AB's prior 3 years and quite randomly the CBS fantasy projected outlook for Jones. They combine to give us 2,090 yards and 15 TDs from our top 3 WRs. Our top 3 WRs from last year gave us roughly 1,475 yards and 6 TDs. A marked improvement just from what looks to be our WR corps' floor.

Right now is our WR corps better than it was last season? I'd say yes, very much so.
