He's a home run threat, which is something our WR corps completely lacks at this point. Zay Jones is a completely unproven rookie, Jordan Matthews has never been anything more than a big body in the slot, and Anquan Boldin is 37 years old. The Bills feature nothing but possession receivers, and the result is that we'll continuously face 8 man fronts as teams focus on taking away the run knowing we have no one who can hurt them with the long ball. Or the Bills? we give up or let go talented to players to draft potentially talented players. The Rams defense is going to be a disaster zone this season. They dont have the players to make a switch from 4-3 to 3-4 work, and absolutely no depth. If you thought the drop off when the Bills did it was bad, you wait until you see the Rams this season. Wade Phillips has had a top 10 defense for 10 of the last 11 years. He's a really good coordinator who seems to always find a way to make it work. Completely agree 100% Matthews is garbage( ask Philly fans) he cant hold onto the ball that why they signed Torrey Smith. Sammy was going to demand a huge contract or a trade or walk and Beaner pulls a rabbit out of the hat and got a second which might be #33 to 39 which is like another first. Their best player hasn't even showed up to camp... Yes and he wants 120m over 6yrs and Sammy will want 90m over 6yrs and just like that 35m in cap vaporizes. The bills organization is always making the wrong decisions. This trade only makes sense for the head coach and the GM. They now have a full five years to make excuses for putting out a bad football team. This team was a good defense away from being in the playoffs last year. The ownership group does not know what they are doing. I will not be wasting my time watching this team this year or next. You guys can now get excited about the draft for the next two years. billsfan89 Posted August 11, 2017 Share Posted August 11, 2017 WR1- Boldin (Really a WR 3 but Matthews is better suited in the slot) WR2- Jones WR 3- Matthews WR 4- Holmes (Justin Hunter redzone specialist) WR5- Brown WR6- Tate I suspect that Holmes could slot into the WR1 Role if he has a strong pre-season. Then Jones at the 2 and Matthews in the slot with Boldin coming into a lot of different situations. I also think in the passing offense Charles Clay becomes much more important. Needs to show me something in the next couple of preseason games. But, I liked seeing Lewis start looking like an NFL receiver and Shorts is high on my list. Z.Jones highlight film looked great. But, I want to see him in a game. Has all the potential in the world to be the #1 guy here. Boldin will be the guy we go to, but not every down. Keep him fresh for January!!
