Buffalo Boy Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I figured they would use the whole season to evaluate talent. Apparently they are quicker than that. If McD and Beane know talent, we should trust them. There should be no half measures, TT and Shady should go and in two years we could have an amazing nucleus.
jrober38 Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Trust is earned. If this works out, they'll be here for 10+ years. If it doesn't, we'll be looking for a new coach in 16 months.
Bangarang Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I'm cautiously optimistic they know what they are doing. Won't know until things play out
C.Biscuit97 Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 No. I hated the idea of hiring a coach before the GM. The Pegulas, who I totally am in debt for what they have done in Buffalo, have no idea how to run a NFL franchise.
Iverwig Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 After what we the fans have endured the past few years my answer is no until they can prove their worth. Trust is earned and they haven't been here long enough for that however, this trade can go a long way towards earning them some trust.
TheElectricCompany Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Here we are, winning the offseason again. I'll trust them when they build a consistent championship contender.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I do now. I'll trust them even more if they whack TT.
Kelly the Dog Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 A second round pick and an iffy CB for Sammy fukkin Watkins?!!!! I think maybe Bellichick made this trade.
smuvtalker Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 No. I hated the idea of hiring a coach before the GM. The Pegulas, who I totally am in debt for what they have done in Buffalo, have no idea how to run a NFL franchise. Agree wholeheartedly...
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 To everyone caterwauling: Was Sammy going to take us to the promised land? How about Darby? Until the QB situation is resolved, these guys are like $10000 rims on a 1985 honda civic.
chris heff Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 A first time GM and a first time HC making big trades, what could possibly go wrong?
GETTOTHE50 Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 To everyone caterwauling: Was Sammy going to take us to the promised land? How about Darby? Until the QB situation is resolved, these guys are like $10000 rims on a 1985 honda civic. lol too true.
Magox Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I believe they have clear and concrete vision on what they would like this team to look like, whereas I never really got that feeling with Whaley. For me Whaley had an eye for talent but no vision. Whether or not this vision will lead us in the right direction, well...... I suppose we will just have to see.
Jamie Muellers Ghost Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 (edited) With the stadium run around talk from pegula a couple weeks ago I wouldn't trust anyone down there right now. These moves seem strangely related to the ones that Chip Kelly Did when he got to Philadelphia. We know how well that worked out. Edited August 11, 2017 by Jamie Muellers Ghost
BarleyNY Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 They're earning my trust gradually. Today was a big step in the right direction.
Royale with Cheese Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 This is a Patriots type move. The Patriots in consecutive seasons traded Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins in contract years.
Mountain Man Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I trust them more than if they had paid a crock WR like Watkins superstar money next year
